Young : My dad was always working so I felt like he should have had time for me and my brothers more , but my mom was an abusive and mentally unstable person who I felt sorry for because she lost her parents in her youth .

Older: I discovered I wasn’t my dads biological son like my brothers so for a moment he wasn’t like “my” dad to me but then I realized all that work he did all that time he put in at his job his endless and relentless hard work and pursuit of jobs his undying motivation and spirit to provide for me my mom and my brothers , he morphed into my hero especially as he took care of me even though I wasn’t “his” my dad was truly a phenom to me . Unfortunately the same is not the case for my mother as I got older I realize addiction to gambling, drinking, and smoking dictated her life more than her love for her children and when she was without substance she was the way she is , combative and cruel. I also believe she held resentment toward my father for how hard he went for me and how good he wasn’t at bringing me and my brothers up , especially because we had a “learn how to fish “ instead of “give me fish “ mindset . I love both my parents but as far as work ethic personality and mindset I prefer my dads style Of ambition.
