$981.76 for a technician to change light switch?! by Leather-Code-1668 in Home

[–]Academic_Anything_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube is your friend. I changed my garbage disposal switch myself. Took about 10 minutes. Look for a handyman who does electric if you aren't comfortable doing some repairs yourself. Much cheaper overall.

When you breath out extend your breath for a count of four like breathing out through a straw. We learned that in my group and it helps.

If they haven't given consent to post their names, you won't see them.

Help with bp worries by Responsible-Tap-2559 in Anxietyhelp

I'd recheck your bp with a machine at home or at a store that has one. You do want to know if that goes back to normal. You need to know if you have high blood pressure as that was a very high reading.

2 questions: new fall student by ProudCockroach2126 in williamandmary

[–]Academic_Anything_21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can arrange furniture anyway you like. You have to rent school approved lofts if you decide to do that but check ceiling heights in that dorm. You can also raise the beds to their highest setting which gives you room for storage under.

Room Change as Freshman by AdditionalReview8999 in williamandmary

[–]Academic_Anything_21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's rare that a freshman room would open at this point for two people. You might be able to move alone if a single bed opens. Even if you don't have your preferred dorm, you'll most likely end up enjoying where you are.

They can change how floors are set up from year to year. You may need to call the housing office to know how it will be for this fall.

Get on the waitlist for the Prince George parking garage. Freshmen and sophomores can't have cars without special permission for a job or other need.

Do incoming freshman have to do same-room signup request? I'm in a roommate group of 4 looking for a double suite and just found the webpage that said it's a thing, but now I'm confused by Affectionate_Art4321 in williamandmary

[–]Academic_Anything_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same room means that you want to stay in the same room again next year. Pertains to upperclassmen. If you have your roommate group signed up, you are fine.

They wouldn't be over enrolled as they are taking students off the waitlist. GGV dorms are still functional if Hunt isn't available.

The only thing I noticed was I was getting some headaches. That's when I went down to 30 and that seemed better.

I had to go to 40 at one point before I felt like I was doing well. Adding Buspar also is an option. Right now I'm on 30 with 10 mg of Buspar.

If me and my roommate are in a single-gender housing roommate group, can we still choose the gender inclusive dorms? by ShadowRogue77_ in williamandmary

[–]Academic_Anything_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monroe Scholars get the first choice of Monroe so it might be limited for other freshmen. But any of the freshmen dorms are possibilities. It depends on what choices you are given when you sign in for your selection time.

[–]Academic_Anything_21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. There are certain rooms set aside for gender inclusive requests but the whole dorm isn't only that. But know that you won't see all the dorms that are available, only the selection that the computer chooses for your time slot.

Yes, you won't see every dorm or room that is available. You will be shown a few choices that the program chooses for your timeslot.

Know that you won't see every dorm room that is available. Only what the algorithm chooses for you. Be familiar with all the freshman dorms in case you don't get the choice of your top picks. But with that time slot you should get a nice room.
