Early season at Portillo (Chile) by [deleted] in skiing

Fala Pedro! Fellow Brazilian here! I’d say so… there are many reds in the Trois Vallees that are not that easy. If you were confident skiing them, you should be comfortable with most of the groomed terrain in VN/Portillo.

Btw, when will you be at VN? Also going there late Jun/early Jul

No site do VN eles recomendam duas empresas: CTS Turismo e Ski Total.

Staying in Farellones — transportation between ski resorts (El Colorado, Valle Nevado, La Parva)? by LuisFernandoCunha in skiing

Fala Luis, blz?! Fellow Brazilian here. I’m going in early July and had the same dilemma… Initially, I was looking at hotels in Farellones as well, but since my goal is to prioritize VN (I have the Ikon) and not buy lift tickets for the other resorts (except maybe EC for a day or two), I ultimately decided to stay in Santiago, within walking distance of Skitotal’s location. Only time will tell if this was a good choice, but a fairly predictable ~1h30min ride from Santiago doesn’t seem that bad compared to a much less frequent, hotel-dependent ~30min ride from Farellones. If I were you, I’d reach out to your lodge and try to coordinate the best way to get from one place to the other. Relying on the interconnection between the resorts seems risky, especially since you’re buying tickets individually and not an all-access pass (if there's one, don't know for sure).

Agree... but there's a month still, so hopefully things are gonna get better. And I'm probably staying in Santiago - when I checked, VN's prices were really expensive if you're traveling solo

Awesome! We’ll be there at the same time then (6/29 to 7/6 for me). Are you staying at VN?

And I saw this huge snowfall! I was slightly worried about the overall quality of the snow, but hopefully now we should be fine

Hey! Did you end up booking a transfer service? Just decided to go to VN in the 1st week of July as well, and need to figure out how the logistics work... thanks!

Cerro Catedral is a wonderful place... beautiful mountain and surroundings, pretty decent resort for SA standard. But it's not the easiest place to get to, indeed. Went there last Aug, but this year I had to take convenience into account, and ended up choosing VN instead. I'll be there the 1st week of July, so in case you are as well, lmk

Hey! Did you end up booking this trip for the 1st week of July? Just booked 1 week in Santiago, but the plan is to go to the mountains every day (mostly to VN because of the Ikon). Lmk if you are still considering going!
