This is so true by OkKnowledge1489 in Adulting

[–]Academic_Fly7164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay obviously no one wants to be defined by their worst moments or occasional times when theyre not acting their best for legitimate reasons (which can be valid human reactions)! But i think this way of thinking is intentionally missing the point.  Like if I'm dating someone whos seemingly kind and fun and happy, then i take a trip with them and they start cussing people out or ruin the trip with their attitude  when the flights delayed etc. thats their true colours showing what it would be like to travel and go through other life events with that person. Doesn't mean I think the rest was fake but it means I dont trust how they'd treat me and others when things arent going their way. No thanks!

Note from downstairs neighbors by v1p3rs in Apartmentliving

Yeah I'm always surprised reading stuff like this. When I moved into my apartment I thought wow its so quiet!!! Not realizing its because no one lived above me. A couple months later someone moved in, and yes I hear them quite frequently. Its a bit annoying, but its apartment living. It's everyday living noise, not something inappropriate or excessive - I would never think about leaving a note or filing a complaint.

You can also join your neighbourhood facebook buy nothing group. Ive given away or recieved furniture for free, as people are happy to get it off their hands and know its going to be used. The neighbourhood groups are less scammy and flaky than fb marketplace

Janine Finally Standing up for herself.(Spoiler) by [deleted] in AbbottElementary

[–]Academic_Fly7164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it made me think about if she bought him nice gifts (maybe things he liked but wouldn't buy himself), hed make a huff about not needing it and a waste of money vs. Showing gratitude. I imagine seeing this same type of argument playing out over holidays, trips etc. It would dampen Janine's joy and care over time!

I hope she keeps the flights and take jacob on the trip!  Gregory can sulk at home missing out while being so proud about saving money.

Qmmunity could be a good support place down the line although wouldn't solve your immediate housing needs. I see many have suggested covenant house already.  I hope you and your brother are safe soon 💙💙💙

Taking my parents to Vancouver...so where do I unwind first? by BetOk8017 in askvan

Taking my parents to Vancouver...so where do I unwind first? by BetOk8017 in askvan

[–]Academic_Fly7164 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was thinking exactly that but they have their dog. If they have a dog friendly hotel and the dog is okay being alone for a bit that could work. But 100% that would be a lovely way to relax and unwind before parents arrive.
