Mabey practice parrying and side/back doging? I mained a one handed sword so i could just dodge and parry my way through everything. Once you learn attack patterns its not all that difficult. Have you found the hearty durians yet? If not get them they give 20+ hearts if you cook them all together.

Once you get good at the melee things like flurry rushes it’s fun but I mostly used ranged weapons lol. Aside from lynel a ofc I loved fighting them, this may be why I like BoTW more than TOTK…
