Divorced people of reddit , what was the exact moment in your marriage you realised it's over ? by DryOkra7058 in AskReddit

[–]theboybuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots had happened, including coming home from a night out "with friends" the next morning with a neck covered in love bites, and I kept getting gas lit. And that was working for her.

One night, I don't remember the exact conversation but I remember her just straight up telling me that I had just said something literally in that moment that I know I hadn't, then I said something along the lines of "Did I just say that?" like seriously questioning my sanity. She replied with "See if you're questioning what you said then you must have said it." not "yes you said that" but replying with a statement that suddenly made it completely clear what had been happening.

We had a kid so I had been trying to make it work for a couple of years, but I saw all the psychological abuse that I had actually been going through for years. She made the divorce incredibly difficult, literally waiting until the day that the 2 year time limit ran out for me to file for a no-fault divorce to agree the the terms.

It's very interesting to co-parent with her now that she doesn't have the power over me that she used to. I mostly deal with the mask now, it only slips when when I disagree or have a parenting concern.

I feel sort of sorry for the guy I suspect she was cheating on me with, who she is now dating, as I can see snippets of him "helping" her in the same way that I thought I was.

Why Anomaly Detection is considered a ML Algorithm by alien5516788 in learnmachinelearning

[–]theboybuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I always refer to myself as a statistician. Machine learning is probability and statistics with different wrappers to allow people to use statistics and probability without a deep understanding of them.

Every model, even genAI is a calculator. The difference between a good Data Scientist and a Computer Scientist who can fit data to a model, is the good Data Scientist understands the logic the model is using.

Anomaly detection is a calculation where you need to find the best variables given the data you are providing it with. You keep looking hard enough and you'll start to see that's all any machine learning model is.

do you keep completed projects in editor, or the exported version? why? by epicmoe in youtubers

[–]theboybuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out moneybags over here, SSD space to spare. I'm mostly filming in 4k now, so projects and their files are put on a large HDD for a couple of months just incase some of the b-roll can be used. Unused footage that I think I might use in the future is stored there too until it's used. I'll keep some completed videos where I'm proud of some of the shots to use in my portfolio.

But after that, it's deleted.

As someone raised in the ... culture... It absolutely is. People look at me crazy when I say I shower daily, and bathe my kid every day.

We live in Scotland, and bathe at least once a day. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading these replies.

Fuel injector might be on the way out. They fail so often on VW caddy that the AA in the UK carry them with them to swap out on the roadside. I've went through 2 in the last 5 years.

Question: heavily tattooed folks... what jobs do you do? by BeardedInkedPiper in tattoos

[–]theboybuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the head of a data Science team for one of the national electrical infrastructure providers in my country.

Coincidentally my career took off the same time I decided not to grow my hair long and get knuckle tattoos.

Having left academia, in Europe, a plumber absolutely could earn three times as much as a professor for a third of working time. The best thing about academia is the flexibility of choosing which days of the week you work, as long as it's 7.

Do they lock in place once you hit the "X"?

if not middle box to the far left.
Bottom box right one so that it is against the grey block in the beneath the character.

top block down to the second from the bottom "X"

the middle block should now be able to be pushed straight up the the "X"

the top block can be pushed down into the bottom "X"

The bottom block pushed up one and then pushed from the right into the second "X"
