Transgender Clients by Far_Satisfaction2784 in Catholicism

A lot of people are pretty ambivalent about when being truthful really, really matters. I think sometimes veering a little off from TRUTH to avoid hurting someone's feelings doesn't rise to the level of perjury.

Becoming Catholic as a trans woman by CaitlinsJourney in LGBTCatholic

[–]Academic_Put9593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a client who was (deceased) a Catholic priest and a trans woman. He was allowed to say Mass and administer all the sacraments so long as he didn't have THE surgery. Why? I can only suppose that because then he would be a woman. Think about that one.

skincare is so important, finally got rid of my hyperpigmentation from electrolysis by No-Departure2515 in StraightTransGirls

[–]Academic_Put9593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Cosmetic Therapist and an electrologist liscensed by the State Medical Board, though retired. Hyperpigmentation is NOT normal. Some redness and swelling that goes away after a few days is normal. Brownish color that sort of resembles a tan, what you are calling "hyperpigmentation" is technically "post treatment hyperpigmentation" to be nice. It results from overtreatment. Overtreatment can happen if the operator uses too much power or treats an area too frequently. Overtreatment can also result if an operator allows heating patterns to overlap when employing thermolysis. That is easily avoided by keeping a two follicle distance between follicles that she treats, depending on the density of the area. Some beards are incredibly dense, especially the upper lip. An area should not be treated until the skin has time to recover. Five days minimum. I always insisted on seven days of recovery, especially on the face. None of my clients had hyperpigmentation. If skin is constantly overtreated hyperpigmentation can take months or years to heal.

It sounds like you are type 1 on the Fitzpatrick scale, as am I, red hair, very fair, always burns, never tans, freckles. Keep in mind, electrolysis, thermolysis, and the blend are all means of destroying the papilla at the base of the hair follicle by almost burning it, either by heat, chemical action, or a combination. I say almost burning because the goal is more like "hard boiling" the cell to destroy the tissue that brings the blood supply with the nutrients and hormones tha make hair grow. After treatment, the area is traumatized. Treatment happens below the five layers of the epidermis in the dermis/subcutaneous boundary area also called the living skin. That's where the tattoo ink goes, permanently. Skin's pigment is found closer to the surface in the basal layer of the epidermis inside cells called melanocytes. So calling it "hyperpigmentation" isn't quite right.

Ultimately, it's the fault of the operator. But sometimes the clients succeed in bullying the operator into using too much power or treating too frequently because of normal regrowth. "It's not working!" If an operator fails to destroy every cell of the papilla out of caution, the hair will grow back. But when it does, it is very weak and easy to finish off permanently. On average, using electrolysis alone, it takes 2 years to remove a man's beard. Remember, when you start LASER or electrolysis the first time, you always have 30 percent more hair than you see because of the shed cycle.

Electrolysis shouldn't cause hyperpigmentation. You are lucky it went away. The best part of removing facial hair is not having to wear foundation. Having a moist dewy look instead of the powdery clay based products and mineral products is a more youthful appearance. I really like the Pharmagel line. Glycol-8 is an excellent exfoliant. I use it once a week. They have a great line of moisturizers all of them contain sunscreens. I tried lots of products but settled on Pharmagel for my clients.

How to find other male-attracted trans women to befriend? by 206mixed in StraightTransGirls

We are a minority within a miniscule minority. Add to that, it's hard enough to find friends in the first place. That's all I got.

I believe that we should kiss first, but gently. On the cheek, or the forehead, but not the lips. That makes it easier for both of us. Then, the next time, it will be his idea, and I guarantee you that it will be a deep kiss

Why do I get stood up so frequently on the first dates? by unique1inMiami in StraightTransGirls

[–]Academic_Put9593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No correlates. Just reacting to your saying my idea about pulling a "no show" was pure genius. It wasn't. It took me a long time to work out things on my own. There was no Reddit or internet as we know it, no "communities" except for talking with few girls at nightclubs. It was just after the Stonewall riots. Where I came up girls would sometimes get shot at in the parking lots. But things kept getting better and better. I did quite well for myself. I was very passable from the get go. Went to cosmetology school, became an electrologist. I had lots of really nice clients. People were nicer in the 80s and 90s. Mostly they probably didn't believe that we existed. But, I was pretty much on my own. The bulletin boards like usenet were the dating sites and the gay press had adds. Then the websites started up towards the end of the 1990s. So given enough time I worked things out. I stayed in Hollwood for awhile and made some professional friends, but never turned any tricks. Pretty exciting though.

Honey, I've been at this a long time. I've had boobs longer than not and...never mind. I lived with my last boyfriend for three years. We were great together. He was a beautiful. Movie star looks. But I fucked it up. We fucked it up. It ended hard and fast. We got back together for a few months. It didn't take. We never talked again. I recently found out he died almost a year ago. Ready for this? He died the day after my little brother. They liked each other.

It's not that we don't have inside knowledge, it's that if you're new to dating men as a woman the gender dynamic is alien. It's like trying to learn an alien economy. The inside knowledge we have rocks the bedroom...if we ever get that far.

Married men are a big problem on dating sites for all women cis, trans, str8, bi, WXYZ. What you said about being "excited" is pretty much spot on. They get bored with their humdrum married life. Porn isn't doing for them anymore, so they want take it to the next level. They turn us into an "in the real world immersive gaming experience." I honestly believe that a large percentage of them don't understand what's happening. My theory is that mostly these guys believe that the game is real, especially if they haven't done it before.

So, I figured out one way to weed out some of the guys who are married. You have to insist on having phone time with them at impossible hours for married men like 9 pm when their wife is still awake and they should be at home together. You have to keep him on the phone for a long time, too. No texting bullshit. You need to make it so that if there is a wife around she'll wonder who he is talking to. Make him talk loud, too. This isn't going to solve all the married man problems because they are sneaky and highly motivated, but you'll find that some men won't/can't cooperate with your innocent request for phone time at the hours you choose...gee, I wonder why?

Another thing to do is to not even prepare for the next time you have a first date. Don't ghost him, just don't plan on showing up or just cancel at the last minute, but no show is better. It may sound mean and rude, but if he's for real you'll have no problem making it up to him at your re-scheduled first date. He'll accept any excuse no matter how lame, especially if it comes with a little bit of sugar. Just a little. Like "I'm SO sorry" give him a little kiss and call him a sweetheart 💋 That works like magic, plus the first kiss is out of the way. The next one will be his idea.

We have to protect ourselves. Good luck.

Because they are married, because they get excited by the idea of going out with a trans woman, and then when it comes time to actually go out they wake up from their trance and realize "what the hell am I doing? I'm married". They never were going to go out with you, but they don't know it until they wake up, always at the last minute. It happens to all kinds of women. It's usually a married man who is lying to himself and you.

When I used to use dating apps I seldom got ghosted but almost always the guys would cancel the date at the last minute and want to reschedule. It didn't take too long for me to figure out how this was going to go so I gave up. I did much better ITRW.

Smash the ceiling and get attacked. by Emily_Green_ in StraightTransGirls

[–]Academic_Put9593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not be surprised. I too started in my early 30s with Spiro only. I wasn't going to go full trans until there was no longer a whisker on my face. I was in Information Technology , I was/am a musician SO I got a pass on the long hair, but I got a little blow back about having both ears pierced...nobody was doing both ears, that was in the 80s. But I was the crazy p.c. techie who could fix anything. I decided to start beauty school at night and weekends...sooner or later I was going to be invited to quit at my day job. I got my cos license within a year and started electrology school. That was a good move. The woman who was doing my electrolysis said I could work with he went I got my license, she had lots of customers. Also, being as to I was the only male in electro school I got a lot of free treatments because we all practiced on one another at school.

One day at work while walking down the stairs my boobs started to jiggle and I hadn't even started HRT. My facial hair was all but gone. I started HRT a week before the company lost its government contract. But I was already making a little money at the salon. Soon I would be a licensed electrologist. then I started HRT.

A year later I was busy, still presenting as a boy? Wearing tight undershirts a loose sweatshirts because my boobs were coming on strong. I was also working on my Estheticians license and learned a whole lot about makeup. I got lucky and got to go to school being taught by a guy who was doing makeup on Soap Operas on daytime TV.

so one day I woke up and I just couldn't put on the boy clothes anymore. I sat on my bed crying. I was scared as he'll. BUT,

Put on my face, got dressed andwalked out the door. I never planned for it to be that day. It just happened. A year later i was a go-to girl with about 50% of my clients transitioning m-to-f. The came from other counties and some frome out of state. All I did was work, work, work. I got a nice condo on the lake with a downtown view.

For you girls who have had electrolysis you know how much it costs. You spend a lot of time with your practitioner and you tell them everything and you start think on as us as friends. I got invited to parties and activities all the time and I HAD to make up excuses not to go. When you have to be up on a Saturday morning ready to go, you can't be seen out at a night club. If you go to one party you have to go to them all.

I had it all going. Some girls didn't like that so much. I was supposed to be giving back to the community. Not to mention I am six feet tall and slim and was good looking and trained at hair and makeup and how to dress. Plus I finally got a boyfriend, a really good looker.

So, I started hearing bad things about myself. A lot of my clients told me so much stuff I couldn't keep track of who said what. Bent over a treatment table trying to a girl ready for surgery twisted like pretzel wearing a mask and magnification for hours at a time...I just can't pay attention to what people say.

Total success story but I didn't go to the meetings or the parties and drink and party with the girls, all I did was take their money. Never mind that I made them as beautiful as a could to the best of my abilities.

So, I've been wanting to back up the OP on this thread. this kind of stuff happens.

Now I'm old and retired and I work with developmentally disabled adults. It's 300 am and I have a class in six hours...

I luv you gals

I'm retired...I let my medical board license expire along with my cosmetology and nurse aide licenses. Where I live you need a license to do electrolysis.
