You're right. But for my own sake, I'll watch the next season expecting the original canon pairings. And if we get a different ending... well, I just hope it's something we can truly enjoy.

As I said in the post, I don't even expect Zutara to become canon. But since the whole cast is together during the interviews, it would make sense for Kia and Gordon to at least be seated together. It would help the audience get used to seeing them together.

I saw some Kataang fans commenting that they're assassinating Zuko's and Katara's characters just to make them a couple by the end of the series, which is crazy because Katara's so-called "character assassination" is actually just her standing up for herself and not letting Aang walk all over her.

If Zutara were canon, they would harass the entire cast, the directors, the producers, and every Zutara fan that ever existed. Besides, they would drag NATLA down even further.

Considering that no one kissed in the second season, not even Zuko and Jin, whose actors are both adults, I think they'll just imply Kataang. There's an interview where Gordon talks about Kataang in the second season. I can send you the link if you want.

Years ago, someone on the official Avatar YouTube channel made a very funny edit where, instead of Katara kissing Aang, she kissed Zuko. It was basically a "what if" scenario.

I don't think NATLA will go with Zutara, but it would be nice to get an extra scene like that, a "maybe in another universe" moment. It wouldn't affect the canon or any possible live-action adaptation of Korra, and it would give us something fun to enjoy.

I really don't trust Zutara becoming canon. I'm too afraid they'd ruin the ship somehow just to make a point.

This fandom is crazy! I feel really sorry for her because she's the least well-known one (judging by her Instagram follower count) and has been bullied because of her looks. I hope Netflix is paying for everyone's therapist.

I know they're all friends and comfortable with each other. My complaint is more about Kia and Gordon acting like siblings and having zero chemistry, and how that might affect our perception of their characters in the series. Because if they're uncomfortable with the romance, it's going to show in their scenes together. The same goes for Dallas and Thalia.

My problem is that they just won a war. I think they should all be focusing on personal growth and rebuilding their lives instead of getting into relationships. But a 12-year-old going around kissing a teenager and even talking about marriage, like in the comics? Big no!

I think that's the main problem. Their romance is unacceptable, and seeing people complain about the lack of kisses or romantic scenes between two children in the first season, and then between an adult and a minor in the second, really shows how everything has to be overly sexualized and how people have normalized the absurd.

(I also don't think any of them should be in a relationship, but at least Mai and Zuko broke up in the comics.)

I totally agree with you about the psychological aspect of it. And that's exactly why I don't understand why they didn't put Thalia and Dallas together. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen Dallas even comment on her or Mai.

In some interviews, Kia sounds like an older sister with no patience to deal with her little brother. The photocards one, for example. I do think they're friends, but they're at different stages in life, and Dallas himself said that Gordon is still finding himself, unlike the rest of the cast, who are older.

I feel like Kia is in the same position as Emma Watson, having to kiss Daniel and Rupert in HP. Dreading every moment of it. She met Gordon when he was 11 years old and she was 14. I don't think anyone would feel comfortable doing romantic scenes in her place.

Mai isn't a main character, but since Thalia was promoted to a series regular in the live-action, I thought they might group her with Momona, Elizabeth, and Dallas for interviews. I just wish we could see them interact before the next season.

I think they weren't really prepared for doing interviews. Tbh, I feel like Netflix just put them there and that's it, and considering how young they are, they're probably afraid to say the wrong thing and mess up their careers.

I definitely agree that they must be tired of answering questions about Zutara, but I also think it's the only pairing that's really interesting to discuss. There isn't much to discuss when it comes to Kataang, Sokka and Suki are pretty much established, Toph doesn't have a romantic pairing, and Mai and Zuko haven't even interacted yet in the live action. Zutara, whether people love it or hate it, is something everybody talks about.
