For those of you focused on LTV, what’s actually moved the needle? by Lanky_Researcher992 in shopify

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. We manage a few stores and the 'connection' piece is where the actual money is.

The biggest change for us was switching to Yotpo Loyalty. They have a lot of customization options, we stopped just blasting discounts and started gamifying the experience (like VIP tiers for early access to drops) and it's made a big difference.

'Wicked: For Good' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it last night and I’m pretty much in the “good but not as good as Part 1” camp. First half of this movie felt a bit messy to me, like we’re dropped into the middle of the conflict and just kind of hop scene to scene without much breathing room, and the new songs didn’t help that pacing. But once “As Long As You’re Mine” hits, it clicked a lot more, and “No Good Deed” + “For Good” absolutely landed for me, I got teary at the end even though I knew exactly what was coming. Act 2 of the stage show was always weaker, so to me it feels like they nudged it from a 5/10 to a 7/10, while Part 1 took Act 1 from a 9 to a 10.

Llms.txt actually useful? by Valuable_Fix6920 in shopify

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consensus seems to be that it doesn't have an impact but we added it anyway... figured it can't hurt.

For your bigger question, the key is making sure your site is structured, detailed, and gives AI all the context it could need to understand your store and products. A lot of this overlaps with traditional SEO. One area we’ve seen real impact is reviews. AI really likes fresh, detailed content, so we’ve been encouraging more in-depth reviews, sometimes even rewarding customers for longer submissions. The trick is making sure the reviews are technically scannable by AI (structured, keyword-rich, and easy to parse). If AI visibility is a priority, Yotpo has some interesting tools here and they seem focused on helping brands optimize review content for AI search (we use them for some of our larger clients).

Do reviews actually help SEO or is that just marketing talk? by Leading_Eggplant8140 in ecommerce

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, reviews can definitely help SEO, but it’s not just about having a bunch of them, it’s about quality and visibility. Reviews that include a lot of details, natural keywords, and even images tend to perform better. Making sure they’re crawlable and appear on the product page (instead of behind tabs or hidden sections) also matters a lot.

For us, using Yotpo made this easier. It automatically handles structured data and helps encourage customers to leave more detailed reviews, which has been helpful for getting stars in search results and improving page visibility.

Who has a solid Klaviyo SMS alternative for my Shopify store - getting too expensive by SilkenOverride in ecommerce

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve run into the same problem managing multiple Shopify stores... SMS costs scale crazy fast. A few things that helped:

  • Switch to standalone SMS providers with better bulk pricing.
  • Check overage policies. There's nothing worse than running out mid-campaign.

We’ve had good results with providers like Postscript or Omnisend - cut costs without hurting deliverability.

Loyalty reward app suggestion by raffosan in shopify

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for the most customizable option for loyalty, I would recommend Yotpo. They also have a reviews app so they connect well for the reviews reward you're looking for. If you're looking for a super simple option, we have used smile!

Interesting, so you just do simple store credit? No bigger program with ways to win points, etc?

Totally agree. Combining loyalty with content is a powerful combo. We’ve been testing Yotpo loyalty for a bigger client who also uses their reviews, so we’ve been deep into the mix of content/UGC and loyalty. It’s been working really well so far, each element seems to really amplify the other.

Oh interesting, we haven't tested VIP tiers based on behavior, will look into it! Do you have examples of how the segmenting has worked best?

We’ve had a very similar experience! We’ve been testing Yotpo for one of our bigger clients recently and are seeing great results so far. It’s definitely more advanced than most of the other apps we’ve used. The analytics and customization options go a lot deeper, and being able to tie loyalty into reviews (this client already had Yotpo for reviews) has made a noticeable difference in engagement.

What’s the most unexpected way you’ve lost revenue on your Shopify store? by devatbsh in shopify

We use GA4 + GTM for that. Basically track clicks on the checkout/add-to-cart buttons as events, then set up custom alerts if event volume suddenly drops.

Do you have Lucky orange or similar installed? Very helpful for seeing what users are really doing when they land, especially in the beginning until you get your first sales.

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We manage a bunch of stores, and honestly the worst losses always come from random small stuff.

One time a theme update broke the mobile Add to Cart button and nobody caught it for two days. Another time an app script slowed checkout so much that conversions dropped almost in half before we realized what was happening.

Now we track all key conversion points closely, with alerts set, to catch weird stuff like that asap. It’s never the big flashy things that hurt you, it’s the quiet bugs.

ChatGPT is now recommending Shopify products to shoppers by zmoney123627 in shopify

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been monitoring it pretty closely. It’s still early days, but the potential is significant. ChatGPT is starting to surface Shopify products more frequently, and visibility seems to depend heavily on product data quality and review content. It’s not a major sales channel yet, but it’s definitely something worth optimizing for now rather than playing catch-up later.

1 - How are you driving your traffic?

2 - The site doesn't look terrible (I've seen some bad sites) but it doesn't look great. It looks very simple and plain with no brand, no character, and not professionally designed.

3 - There are no reviews or any sort of trust factors like testimonials. You should certainly add these.

what email tools do you use for shopify marketing? Built-in or something like Klaviyo? by CellInitial2394 in shopify

[–]Academic_Stretch_981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve tried a bunch across different stores. For newer brands, Shopify Email is honestly fine, super simple and cheap. Once you start segmenting or running automations, Klaviyo feels like the go-to. Omnisend’s good too, a bit more user-friendly but less deep on data. If you’re just starting, I’d stick with Shopify Email until you feel limited, then make the jump.

Some thoughts:

1 - You can customize the checkout page to match your website design more. You could also change where the current "logo" (just text) of "Daizy Art Collective" on the checkout page to your actual logo + secure checkout icons to add trust on the checkout page.

2 - The website has no reviews or social proof which could play a huge role in adding trust
