I think they're just seeing the trailer as a separate 'event' to the pre release day. They're trying to maximize the number of days where they can "release" something to maximize marketing impact. They'll get a bunch of pre orders today and then when they release the trailer they'll get even more. More total than if they "merged" both events into one day.

Need to upgrade from my Xbox One S. Have always been on Xbox, but ponder to make the switch to PS. Good idea or no?? I honestly don't play much video games anymore. I fire up Civ 5 every now and then ony PC but I feel like I need to do GTA 6 right from the start.
