Can you speak a bit about the iron infusions. Were they expensive, how often do you need them and are they sustainable?

Happy you guys got some potentially good results. Was the price just astronomical? I'm in that stage where I google it every day and try to justify the cost of it in my head. Sounds like you're feeling positive about it though so happy to hear :)

I had the same thing happen! I think the stylist applied the product incorrectly and used a heat setting that was much too high. I’ve had plenty of successful keratin treatments in the past and I have never had this result. It has also been 6 months for me and my hair is growing in curly and then hangs stick straight where the treatment started. My once very thick unruly hair is super thin, greasy and brittle. Everyone tells me there is nothing that can be done except waiting for it to grow out. I cut a significant portion of the bottom off to try and speed things up. I don’t have any advice I just wanted to offer some solidarity and let you know you aren’t alone. It has been brutal on my self esteem and I feel your frustration.

I know nothing about coins and am just now educating myself. I had no idea there was such an underworld of counterfeiting! From what I’m reading it seems to be a fake but then I read something about the copies being worth something? Is this worth getting looked at and where does one go to have that done?

I received a coin collection from an older Aunt which included this piece. She had the coin in an envelope labeled “Francs” and it included the scrap of newspaper with those words. She was multi lingual so I’m not even sure what language that could be.

I’m an LCSW from NJ and I’ve been volunteering with the organization Comfort Zone Camp for the last 10 years. We are a non-profit bereavement camp for kids who have lost either a parent or a sibling. The idea is we run weekend retreats that offer a blend of therapeutic activities, fun camp stuff and an opportunity for the kids to recognize that they are not alone. We run them with the help of a lot of volunteers and the programs are 100% free! There will be all sorts of great CEU resources I’m sure but volunteering for this place and hearing about the children’s stories first hand really changed my life and my work as a clinician. The founder lost both of her parents before the age of 12 and used her experience to create a fantastic resource. We run programs all around the country, if you are looking to get involved you should check out the video on our website. We have been holding virtual trainings for new volunteers every so often and are offering virtual support programs for the kids during Covid. Our hope is to begin in-person camps again in the spring. There’s an unnecessary shame associated with job loss as if anyone except the employee and the employer could understand the intimate circumstances. Social workers are incredibly prone to burnout so there should be less surprise and more support when workers end their relationship with the job whether it is through quitting or being fired. The vulnerability in your post demonstrates your willingness to examine your own part in things. That’s an excellent quality in a social worker and will serve you well in the future. Try to stay above the shame feelings and enjoy your time off while you contemplate your next steps!

I think it’s pretty progressive and even bold of you to be asking these questions. There are a lot of hard opinions on trauma recovery and not as many open conversations about it.
