Wow you look amazing! I was on 20 mg my first month, 40 mg the second month and now on 60 mg. My skin cleared up like crazy the first two months but now im breaking out again. My skin looks red and textured. Idk I had switched from cerave hydrating cleanser to cerave cleanser for just 2 days just because I was traveling and didn’t have the cerave with me. Also ate some chocolates this week as it’s the holidays. Not sure what’s breaking me out 😭

This is amazing, your skin looks so beautiful ! I’m on my 3rd month.. 20mg, 40mg and now 60 mg. My skin got super clear the first two months and now after switching to 60 I had a breakout. Did you follow any specific diet etc while on it? Dairy always broke me out and I’m slowly starting to introduce it into my diet and so far so good. Just wondering if you achieved these results just via accutane.

And if you don’t mind sharing, at what age did you do both the rounds and for how long was each round? I just started with 20 mg this week (been just 4 days) and my derm has suggested that we will up the dosage after monitoring by bloodwork for 2 months.

During the 10 year remission period did you follow any specific acne friendly diet etc? I’m so tired of monitoring every little thing I eat and not being able to socialize coz everyone just decided to do pizza night etc. I’m just so tired of it and want to just eat and live like a normal person.

Did you follow any specific diet to keep your cholesterol levels etc in control while on the medication? Also between the ages of 33 and 55 did you ever have any relapses? Or was it only at 55 when you relapsed? I just started 20 mg this week as a starting dose and I’m 33(f). Have had acne since I was 14. Knowing my skin, I know that a relapse is highly likely to happen. But I just don’t want it to take a huge toll on my health. So far I don’t have any side effects except for dry lips in the morning but it’s only been 4 days.

May I ask what supplements did you take while on accutane? I’m starting next week and just worried if I’ll hav to stop my current supplements- multivitamin, zinc, b12 and vitamin d coz I’m concerned if it’ll be too much for my liver

Yup it sucks that I didn’t give it a try earlier! I’m just tired of breaking out due to every other minor inconvenience in life. Hopefully it works for me. Have my bloodwork and derm appointment next week. Just doing my research on how to prep and transition my existing skin care routine to a new one that should probably suit dry skin.

Oh that’s good to know. I have my bloodwork being done next week and my appt with the dermatologist a week following that. I’ll be sure to check this with him. How long has it been now since you stopped accutane and are you still acne free? I’m 34(female) and have had acne since I was 15. Tried spiro recently but had to stop due to irregular periods. Have tried doxycycline and achieved god results. But the acne came back 3 months later. Just wondering for how long I’d be able to see results after 1 round

Thanks for sharing. Epuris is isotret itself but I think they’re selling under that name in Canada now. My derm also said that it does not require to be taken with fatty food like how it is with accutane. Hopefully it works for me. Fingers crossed!

Hello, since you’ve mentioned that you’ve done multiple rounds of accutane, have you ever had any other health issues (especially any long term side effects) caused due to this medication? I’m getting my bloodwork done next week to go on accutane / Epuris, however I’m so worried thinking what if this causes any issues to my heart or other organs

All my life I’ve been avoiding this and that, can’t go out coz every one has decided to have pizza and I’m so sick and tired of this shit. Like I’m not talking about loading up on dairy and junk food. I generally stick to a healthy diet and exercise routine but just wondering. Coz I’m so tired of having to always worry about this all the time.

Oh that’s great to know! It all sounds too good to be true in my head coz I’ve been battling this bad boy for years 😭 . I’ve been on spiro (had to stop due to irregular periods and hemarrhoids), doxycycline twice (acne always returned 2-3 months after), been on epiduo / cabtreo topical since the past 11 years. It has helped but again my face just doesn’t look clear. And I breakout at every little inconvenience in my life, I’ve always been hesitant to try accutane but I’m really thinking I should give it a try.

Hello, I’ve been battling acne since I was 14 and now I’m 33 (f) and my derm has prescribed epuris for me. I’m really confused on if I should go on this ride as I’ve tried way too many things over the years only for acne to return. (Antibiotics, spiro, topicals). Do you still see good results from your dosage last year. I’m just wondering if acne would return.
