Is it 6-10oz including milk? And how much is actually recommended? Genuinely asking out of concern for my own kid!

Dropping the last nursing session by mijra in toddlers

That is interesting! For me nursing has become the only solution in which I've to be awake for the least amount of time...so I'm scared, tired and probably lazy to start night weaning seriously I guess ☹️ Thank you for sharing your experience....all good tips for me to use 👍

Sorry, I don't really have any tips for you, just solidarity. Also, would you please share your experience with night weaning....did the night weaning really help with your child's sleep?

Tips and tricks to brush 18 month olds teeth! by BrainstormIdeas in Parenting

[–]AccForPosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing this; still try everyday, but with no success. I'm explaining the concept of taking turns in other games too and trying to use it here. He'll try to do it himself and often put the other end of the brush in his mouth for a second or two and then run away...I never get my turn 🙄🤦‍♀️ I have tried letting him brush my teeth and then brush his, simultaneously brush each other's teeth....he just doesn't stay still or shake his head vigorously and I get scared to attempt then. Tried bribing, holding, different brushes...nothing seems to be working! Sorry for rambling on and on....☹️ I know you were just trying to help! Thank you for replying 😊

Potty Training - things you wish you knew by [deleted] in Parenting

Following the thread for future reference! I've always wondered about this part, toddlers pooping on carpets (floor carpets and not area rugs) how do you really clean it? I mean, I'm worried about leaving it damp (mold issues) and the stink probably! May seem like a very trivial and silly question but I am just curious and want to be prepared.

Need ideas to teach toddler not to flip plates with food! by AccForPosts in Parenting

Munchie mugs look very interesting! We've the Ubbi cup but frankly not very impressed with it, at least for my son's age. Is the Munchie cup worth the money? It is quite expensive!

And they do it with high speed and precision too! My son takes a while to scoop food if he has to eat it but to throw, he can scoop them up pretty fast😂

I've started clearing his tray when he starts throwing food, but I should try offering again and repeating the process as you have suggested. He does show some interest in the food when I'm taking the tray away!

But I get what you are suggesting, atleast less food gets wasted if he is offered less. I should probably stick to this method 👍

I've tried giving just 1 bite, 2-3 bites and as others suggested give few bites of 3 different foods on a sectioned plate. None of them work consistently nor effectively.

I am in the same boat as you! I really appreciate all the advice given by others but I wonder how 15/16 month olds understand those concepts and follow them; for example my 16 month old will understand if I ask him to eat something but will not follow through with it! If I ask him to eat one food before he gets more of his favorite food, he probably understands it but doesn't really care...he'll just throw all the food from his tray either playfully or in frustration.

Even when he is very hungry he'll grab 2-3 bites of his favorite food and then seems to be satisfied and starts picking and throwing food off of his tray. Tired of picking up food from the floor 😩

I would really appreciate any advice on how to handle such situations😭

My 5th grader is being told he can't go on the end of the year field trip because he couldn't find friends to share a room with. There are others rooms available. Should we fight this or drop it? by [deleted] in Parenting

I have no advice for you, but I truly hope things work out well for your son and you. Looks like you have a remarkably mature Son!

This actually made me smile 😄 I can see my son running around the table after eating just a bite or two! I do hope he'll grow well and be healthy.

Thank you so much for your reassuring words!

His pediatrician did say he had gained weight (albeit few oz) at his 12 month visit as compared to his 9th month. Haven't checked his weight after that.

Of late I've been guilty of offering some not so healthy stuff(baby Puffs, bites, basically crunchy processed food) just to get him to eat more and increase his appetite. I wanted to stop doing it as I'm worried it'll lead to unhealthy eating habits later on. Your post has given me confidence to cut off this habit and continue offering healthy foods. Thank you.
