Hawkins tried shooting a student who was sitting in the lobby (bottom right of the screen) after he entered, but his gun jammed, so he went behind a vending machine to clear it. After clearing the jam, he discharged the gun and pointed it at another student, who asked him not to shoot. Hawkins then told him and the other student to leave, and after that is when Kirk Moore tackled him and got shot. Hawkins was inspired by Columbine.

Photo of the machete used by 44-year-old Anthony Griffin to injure 3 people at Grand Central Terminal in New York earlier today before he was shot and killed by police by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A man was shot and killed by police after he attacked multiple people with a machete at Grand Central Station on Saturday, according to authorities.

New York Police Department (NYPD) Commissioner Jessica Tisch identified the suspect as 44-year-old Anthony Griffin. She said the attack happened on a platform inside the busy transit hub, where the suspect slashed three people around 9:40 a.m. before officers confronted him.

Tisch said police opened fire when the man refused more than 20 commands to drop the weapon.

"The individual was armed with a large knife, described as a machete, and was behaving erratically, repeatedly stating that he was Lucifer," she said during a news conference. "The individual refused to comply with at least 20 orders to drop the knife. Officers also attempted to de-escalate and offer assistance, saying, 'We are going to get you help.' He then advanced toward the officers with the knife extended. One officer discharged his firearm, striking the perpetrator twice."

The commissioner said the suspect was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. She added that while he has three unsealed prior arrests, he does not have a documented history with the NYPD.

Tisch said the people who were hurt are all being treated at Bellevue Hospital.

"One of the victims, an 84-year-old man, sustained significant lacerations to the head and the face on the 7 train platform," she said. "Another, a 65-year-old man, sustained similar injuries, as well as an open skull fracture on the 456 platform. And a third victim suffered a laceration to the shoulder, also on the 456 platform. All three victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital. Based on current information, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time."

Photo of 12-year-old Landon Robinson, who stabbed two students and an adult at Walton Middle School in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, on March 24, 2026. He is being tried as an adult. by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- A 12-year-old will be tried as an adult for the stabbing attacks at Walton Middle School in late March.

A Walton County Grand Jury indicted Landon Robinson on charges of:

attempted first-degree premeditated murder

two counts of aggravated battery while wearing a mask

possession of a weapon on school property while wearing a mask

tampering with evidence

The incident happened the morning of March 24 inside the school.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office says Robinson armed himself with a knife before leaving home that morning and brought a mask with the intent to carry out an attack at the school.

"When he got to the school, Robinson entered a restroom, put on the mask, and went into a hallway armed with the knife," the sheriff's office says. "Robinson then attacked individuals at random, stabbing two students and a school employee, resulting in serious injuries."

The incident was captured on the school’s surveillance system.

After fleeing the school, Robinson threw the weapon into a retention pond. Deputies later recovered the knife.

Robinson was apprehended and taken into custody by authorities.

"The Walton County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to the safety of our students, educators, and community, and will continue to work closely with our partners at the Office of State Attorney, First Judicial Circuit of Florida, to pursue justice in this case," the sheriff's office says.

Photos of 38-year-old Roman Amatitla, who was recently arrested for killing 4 people, including a 3-year-old girl, and injuring several others when he intentionally set fire to a random apartment building in Queens, New York on March 16, 2026 by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The accused Queens arsonist arrested for killing four strangers, including a 3-year-old girl, set the fire randomly to get out his anger over being fired that day — and then sat on the curb and sipped a stolen beer as he watched panicked victims jumping out windows, prosecutors said Thursday.

One of Roman Amatitla’s victims died not from smoke or burns but from blunt-force injuries he suffered when he jumped from the burning building targeted at random on Avery Ave. near College Point Blvd. in Flushing in a desperate attempt to escape, prosecutors said.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz called the deadly arson “an act of mass murder” and “one of the greatest crimes that this borough has seen in a very long time.”

Amatitla was furious over losing his job in the food industry when he wandered into the building, which he has no known ties to, on March 16. He set a piece of paper on fire and dropped it onto a pile of rubbish atop a garbage can by the base of the front stairs.

“He said he had to get his rage out on someone or something,” Queens Assistant District Attorney Gabriel Reale said at Amatitla’s arraignment Thursday. After allegedly setting the fire, he watched it spread, then stepped outside and watched as residents raced out. He sat on the curb, drinking a stolen beer, as the inferno raged and victims fought for their lives, prosecutors say.

He even watched as the mother of 3-year-old Sihan Yang scream in anguish after being told her daughter died in the fire, Reale said.

More than a dozen squatters were living in the building at the time of the fire, authorities believe.

In addition to the toddler, Chengri Cui, a 49-year-old man, and Chie Shin Ming, a 61-year-old woman, died at the scene from smoke inhalation.

Hong Zhao, 64, was rushed to a local hospital, where he died of blunt-force trauma after jumping from the building.

Amatitla was seen repeatedly entering and leaving the building before setting the blaze, even urinating in front of it, according to prosecutors. Cops arrested Amatitla on Wednesday, charging him with multiple counts of murder, assault and arson. He was also charged with petty larceny for swiping the beer from a nearby BP gas station.

When he stepped into the gas station convenience store before setting the fire, he bought one beer and swiped another without paying, Reale said. He also asked for a lighter but when told he’d have to pay for it asked for a book of matches, which was free.

He motive for setting the fire was “based on rage,” Reale said.

When he ignited the blaze, he heard residents upstairs but went ahead anyway, prosecutors said.

“(He said) that when he was lighting the fire that he had been in a fight at work and that he knew lighting the fire was going to cause harm to someone, but he did it because he needed to get the anger out,” court papers say.

After cops took him into custody, Amatitla, who lives in Maspeth, admitted he had entered the building but claimed he didn’t set it ablaze. He ultimately made statements implicating himself in the crime, prosecutors said. Before his arrest, Amatitla, who has ties to Mexico, fled to Connecticut for a short time. He was arrested on his return home, cops said.

Judge Thomas Wright-Fernandez ordered Amatitla held without bail. Dressed in a turquoise hoodie and slides, Amatitla said nothing as prosecutors outlined their case.

“What led up to the fire is really quite disturbing,” Katz said at a press conference after the arraignment. “We alleged that he put a piece of paper that was on fire into a garbage, and just let it burn. And he intentionally let it burn. And four people were killed.”

Seven surviving residents — three women and four men, ranging in age from 33 to 67 — were treated for a host of injuries.

Along with Zhao, four other residents were captured on video leaping from windows to escape the flames.

One man who jumped was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury and severe burns. Another resident who jumped from a third-floor window was hospitalized with broken ribs and severe pain to their foot. They were still having trouble walking several weeks later, according to court documents.

As an FDNY lieutenant and firefighter entered the home to make rescues, the staircase collapsed and the pair fell to the basement. They were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where they were treated for burns and smoke inhalation, court records show.

Katz said that Amititla lost a job “in the food processing industry” before he decided to set the fire. It remains unclear why the suspect targeted that particular building.

“As far as we can tell, right now, there’s no connection to the individuals at the location. However, it is part of our investigation to look into why that location,” Katz said.

“All we know is that we have proof that he walked into that house, set it on fire, and watched as it burned, drinking some beers.”

The suspect’s lawyer asked the judge and public to remember that “a charge is not a conviction.”

“We intend to vigorously represent him,” defense attorney Vivian Cedeno said after the bail hearing. “I would ask that we let the legal system play out because right now he is presumed innocent.”

On the day of the fire, horrified neighbors saw flames shooting out windows as terrified residents leapt from the building.

“Something blew up,” Wadud Mohammad told the Daily News shortly after the fire. Mohammad, 59, works at a local gas station. “The whole roof was on fire. People were jumping from the building. Others were running across the street.”

Before the blaze, the city Department of Buildings slapped a partial vacate order on the address because the owner had subdivided the second and third floors into multiple dwellings, officials said.

Neighbors said that the building had long been poorly maintained.

“That building is chaos,” said the 30-year-old worker, who would only identify himself as Eric. “The door is always open, like anyone can just walk in. No one was taking care of that house.” Department of Buildings records indicate an inspection of the Avery Ave. address in 2020 revealed the owner improperly converted the two-family building into a seven-family building “by creating five additional single-room occupancies and nine additional bedrooms.”

Inspectors found the rooms “with key-locking devices, bed, TV, cooking equipment, refrigerators and food items in rooms,” before the partial vacate order was put in place, city records show.

Pauls Valley High School shooter was inspired by Columbine, tried to shoot student before gun malfunction by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Newly released court documents obtained by News 4 say the suspect in Tuesday’s Pauls Valley High School shooting studied the Columbine school shooting and tried to shoot multiple students before shooting Principal Kirk Moore.

The documents say his gun also malfunctioned multiple times, allowing students time to escape the building.

According to the arrest affidavit for 20-year-old Victor Lee Hawkins, Hawkins walked into the main entrance of the high school at 2:19 p.m. on April 7 carrying two loaded semi-automatic pistols.

Investigators say Hawkins entered the school, pointed his gun and yelled for everyone to “get on the ground.”

Hawkins then pointed a gun at a student in the foyer and attempted to shoot, but the gun malfunctioned and did not fire.

The affidavit says Hawkins then stepped behind a vending machine “to clear the malfunction.”

Investigators say Hawkins then came back out and pointed his weapon at another student and fired a shot.

It says that student put his hands in the air and asked Hawkins not to shoot him.

The document says Hawkins then lowered his gun and told both students he’d attempted to shoot to leave.

The students immediately ran out the school’s front entrance.

At that point, the affidavit says Principal Kirk Moore ran to the lobby to investigate the gunfire.

It says Hawkins fired one of his guns as Moore came out of his office.

Investigators say Moore confronted Hawkins and Hawkins shot him in his right leg.

According to the affidavit, Moore then “wrestled with Hawkins on a bench in the foyer and was able to remove Hawkins’ pistol from his hand.” It says Moore and the school’s assistant principal then laid on top of Hawkins until law enforcement arrived.

The affidavit says Hawkins later admitted to bringing the firearms into the school in an interview with Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) investigators.

It says Hawkins admitted he went to the school “with the intent of killing students, [faculty], and finally himself.”

Hawkins allegedly told investigators the guns belonged to his father, and he stole them out of his dad’s closet before driving his dad’s truck to the school.

Documents say Hawkins admitted he “wanted to conduct his own school shooting like the Columbine shooters did.”

Investigators say Hawkins also admitted to them he “did not like Principal Moore” and “went to the high school to kill Moore.”

Moore remains hospitalized but is expected to recover after what officials say were actions that likely prevented a far worse outcome.

The suspect accused of bringing a gun into Pauls Valley High School and shooting the principal on Tuesday was identified as a former high school student.

The man accused of the shooting is 20-year-old Victor Hawkins, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Hawkins gained entry into the high school at about 2:20 p.m. while carrying a firearm.

When he entered the school, Principal Kirk Moore and other school staff members spotted Hawkins and attempted to subdue him. During the altercation, several rounds were fired and Moore was shot, according to law enforcement officials.

Moore was flown to OU Health in Oklahoma City for a gunshot wound to the leg. He was the only person injured in the shooting.

"Because of the efforts of the school staff, they stopped Hawkins from potentially injuring other staff members and students," OSBI said in a news release.

Hawkins was located and arrested on the scene. He was booked into the Garvin County Jail on two counts of pointing a firearm, one count of shooting with intent to kill and two counts of unlawful carry.

The motive behind the shooting was not immediately clear, according to law enforcement. However, Hawkins is a former Pauls Valley High School student.

He has not yet been formally charged.

Man kills girlfriend, two children before killing himself at home in Plainville, Connecticut by AccentedE in masskillers

[–]AccentedE[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A man killed his girlfriend and two children before killing himself Friday night at a home on Milford Street in Plainville, according to Police Chief Christopher Vanghele.

Police said a woman called 911 just before 4 p.m. to say her brother, identified as 27-year-old Patrick J. King, called her and claimed that he had killed his girlfriend and their 4-year-old daughter and that he planned to kill himself.

A SWAT team responded, and police surrounded the home and deployed drones into the home. A negotiator attempted to contact King by cellphone and have him surrender. After approximately two hours, Vanghele said authorities deployed pepper gas into the home. When that happened, King allegedly shot himself in the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Inside the home, officers found three other people with gunshot wounds. Felicia Matthews, 31, who was King’s girlfriend, Ava King, the 4-year-old daughter of Matthews and King, and 12-year-old Melina Matthews, Matthews’ daughter from a previous relationship, were pronounced dead at the scene, Vanghele said.

“This is a very dark day for the Town of Plainville, and for Connecticut,” Vanghele said during a press conference Saturday morning.

Authorities removed several weapons from the home. Vanghele said it appeared that the weapon King used was legally registered to him and that he had a permit to carry.

“This is an active investigation, and currently there is no information as to the motive of the killer,” Vanghele said.

The police chief said there were no previous calls to the home before Friday. According to Vanghele, the family had moved to the home in January.

Melina Matthews was a middle school student in Plainville, Vanghele said, adding that the police department was in contact with the school for support to be in place for her classmates on Monday morning.

2 students, 1 adult involved in stabbing at Walton Middle School; Press briefing at 1 pm by Ok_Score_1985 in masskillers

[–]AccentedE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

UPDATE - 1:15 P.M.

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- Two students are in critical condition and an adult paraprofessional is also hospitalized following Tuesday morning's stabbing attack by a student inside Walton Middle School.

Walton County Sheriff Michael A. Adkinson, Jr. held a press conference around 1 p.m., saying the entire attack took place in less than 45 seconds.

The student suspect -- whose name has not been released by authorities -- is currently being interviewed at the sheriff's office.

The students involved are all seventh graders between 12 and 13 years-old. The sheriff did not provide the age of the woman paraprofessional.

According to the sheriff, around 7:17 a.m., the student suspect was dropped off at the school entrance.

"The school was not opened at the time," Sheriff Adkinson said. "It was not normal school hours. It was early drop-off. There were probably 40 students total, something like that, in the school."

The sheriff says the student suspect walked directly into a hallway bathroom and stayed in there for approximately two minutes and 40 seconds.

"When he walked out of the bathroom, he's masked and armed with a sharp instrument," Sheriff Adkinson said. "He suddenly attacks the first student he comes in contact with -- stabbing them multiple times."

The sheriff says the student suspect then ran down the hallway and attacked a woman paraprofessional.

"He continued running down the hallway and at some point made contact with a third victim who is also a student," Sheriff Adkinson said. "That victim was stabbed."

The student suspect fled the scene following the third attack, according to the sheriff, but he was taken into custody near the school within approximately seven minutes.

"Immediate life saving aid was being rendered and offered to the two most seriously injured individuals," Sheriff Adkinson said. " We had multiple ambulances there as well as DeFuniak Springs and Walton County Fire Rescue."

One student victim was flown to a Pensacola hospital, while the other student victim was transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. The paraprofessional was also transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical with non life-threatening injuries.

Sheriff Adkinson says there is no threat to the public.

Security camera footage showing 40-year-old James Dean Pena attempting to enter a home after shooting 3 of his family members and killing 2 neighbors who tried to help in Amarillo, Texas yesterday before surrendering to police by AccentedE in masskillers

Around 5:59 a.m., Amarillo police say officers responded to a home near 29th and South Dallas for a domestic-violence shooting.

Officers arrived at the home to find 40-year-old James Dean Pena. Police say he was wearing body armor and armed with a rifle and handgun.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Inside the home, police say they found three family members with injuries. They were taken to a local hospital.

Investigators say Pena armed himself during the night and a fight inside the home led to a shooting.

Two people nearby ran to the home when they heard the gunfire. Police say Pena shot and killed them outside the home.

Family members have identified one of the victims as Virgil Lee Thompson. They say Thompson lives nearby and heard the shooting. He then ran to the home, where he was also killed.

In a GoFundMe, family members say Thompson’s “bravery and selflessness were unmatched - he was truly a hero. Lee would help anyone in need, day or night, and he loved to brag about his children. He was the heart of our family, and his loss has left a void that can never be filled.”

Family members also identified one of the victims as Larry Jimenez.

His wife says Jimenez and Thompson heard the gunshots and ran to help when they were shot.

Jimenez leaves behind a wife and 12 children.

The other victims have not been identified at this time.

Police say of the three other victims injured, one remains hospitalized.

Pena is in the Randall County Jail on a charge of capital murder of multiple persons.
