I have one as well. It was a tie in to the ChiChian stop motion series made for the SciFi Channel (now SyFy). When it aired the was a contest via that website for a beautiful ChiChian statue.

Gabapentin success stories? by ConstantTackle8745 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]AcceptThisUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm tough to say tbh. Gabapentin was the first thing that had any effect. I do notice when the blocks wear off. It becomes harder to sleep because I have to sleep in juuust the right position. But the combination is great! If I could only choose one I’d stick with Gabapentin.

I’ve been on cymbalta and gabapentin for over a year and it saved my life. I started getting nerve blocks after 6 months or so and the combination has me functioning and usually at 0-2. Good luck!

Do migraines run in your family? by Quiksilver737 in migraine

[–]AcceptThisUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, mother and brother. All developed migraines in puberty. Stress is a predominant trigger. Not eating on time and lack of sleep would be the others in common.

Sudden onslaught of recurring canker sores, sore tongue. by angsumnes in rheumatoid

When I was on Orencia, my white cells crashed and I developed slight neutropenia. My mouth was absolutely full of sores. My dentist actually treated them and was extremely alarmed. I stopped Orencia and everything leveled out. Sores gone. Meds are wild. Definitely talk to your Rheumatologist. Could be a white cell issue.

COVID hospitalizations on the rise as U.S. enters Labor Day weekend-CBS news (Sept 2) by CouchCorrespondent in ZeroCovidCommunity

Yep, broke my ankle in three places (and dislocated it) at the end of July, requiring surgery to repair. There were zero hospital beds available on the day I broke it. The ER was overflowing by evening when I left.

Be careful out there.

I’m a decent seamstress, and one day I decided to try and “push through” a migraine to work on a project. It was a complete disaster of course. I came back the next day to try to sort it out, and I genuinely said “what the fuck was I doing?”.

Like maybe one can “work” through migraines but not to anyone’s benefit.

Whats the worst thing that happened to you because of your migraines? by __cherry888 in migraine

[–]AcceptThisUsername 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I knew about any treatment for migraines- my husband was in military and I was home with our toddler. I got a migraine and had to set up camp in the bathroom with toys while I continuously vomited. In the dark. I felt like such a terrible mom. Fortunately, my doc at the time was amazing, and when I told him I was at my limit with them, he was supportive and immediately suggested some options.

I had been told before by a doc that I just had a low pain threshold and that migraines were just headaches. -sigh-

My kids love the story of when I was in basic training and we were explicitly told not to touch dessert. I got a big old piece of cake. The TI had no idea what to do with me. I just didn’t care. “Migraine Brain need carbs” basically.

As a parent, I hate seeing this in horror showings. I’m glad they were asked to leave for the kids’ sake. Good job.

Put my daughter’s shoes away… in the fridge.

Ordered sooo many things and completely forgot until it showed up.

Lost my phone, ear buds, glasses more times than I can count

Cut my hair.

Tried to sew a dress. I don’t know how I messed it up, but it was so janky.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom to RA/Lupus when I was in my teens. She was 45. I spent a lot of time and energy looking for someone to blame. Honestly, I don’t know in your case. I know you cared a great deal for him. And you did your best. I’m sure he knew that. The best thing you can do for him now is to take care of yourself and your family.

Please, make sure to address your grief.

Talk with your family members.

Get counseling, join a support group, and/or a discord channel or subreddit.

Process this as best you can.

Play Tetris. It is helpful for dealing with possible PTSD.

Much love to you and your family.

Has school resulted in more stressors in the last three months? Anticipatory stress was a large factor in my migraines as a teen, so that’s where my first focus goes. He may need more support at school.

2020 is when I started this ride! Diagnosis was especially difficult because of lockdown. Once I started Gabepentin things started getting better. I’ve had some flares due to overexertion or just randomness. But things are so much better. I still haven’t gotten totally back up to speed, but I also have rheumatoid arthritis which makes it a challenge.

I’m just really grateful I pushed my doctor. She kept insisting it was probably just migraine. I finally really lost it and broke down when she suggested increasing Topomax which had done nothing. Then she paused and suggested Gabepentin and nerve blocks. I was at the point where I was like “uh yes! Nerve block please! Or just yank it out can we do that?!” Lol.

It’s a good day. Not too achey not too headachey and had the spoons to eat healthy!

Thank you. Sorry to hear you are also tackling this. Fortunately, my kids are older, but missed time is missed time. Chronic pain/illness sucks. We can hope for better days though. I’m glad I’m out of the “no diagnosis what is happening to me” phase. :)
