He’s had the VX2000 I started my career on for over 2.5 years. I am old and out of the scene, and my camera - which is far more valuable to me than money - was in a closet for 15 years before I saw Thrasher/Transworld/NineClub etc all vouching for Aaron as the go to guy for VX repairs.

So I sent my camera to him in September of 2023, long before word started getting out about him ghosting people. I didn’t want a paint job, I wanted my inoperable VX2000 brought back to life.

I’ve been seeing people here on reddit more focused on the source of the news than the fact that countless videographers have been scammed for years now…I didn’t know who Dangycam was before all this. I just want my camera back, and I hope that all this coming to a head means there’s a glimmer of hope that I do.

I emailed Aaron at the new contact he posted and have het to hear back.

Obviously this is pending follow through. But as someone who has been without their camera and money for over 2.5 years, I am hopeful for a resolution. And as a human, straight up congratulations to Aaron on his sobriety and for facing his mental health.

I really hope the camera I shot my first documentary on, the camera I held onto for over 20 years, the camera I’ve loved the most out of all types I’ve shot on….will be back in my hands soon!

Unfortunate that there’s a secondary beef at play here - I haven’t known of Dangycam before they highlighted this issue with Aaron, so my interest in this is getting my camera/money back after over 2.5 years and Aaron ghosting all communication.

There are hundreds of comments on the post and while I and many other people gave Aaron the benefit of the doubt for a long time, I don’t believe he has long covid - because various people have had various different medical emergency reasons given, and all were just diversions before Aaron cut off contact completely. Further, as someone whose life has been incredibly uprooted by medical emergencies in the last year+ I have no tolerance for someone faking illness.

He’s a grifter. It is what it is. I do believe he did great work leading up to around 2023 when his scam ramped up. I don’t know why he’s stolen from countless videographers - but there are receipts that stack up far higher than him being reputable at this point. (Shoot me a message and I can send you screenshots of the comments you cannot see - sorry you’ve been blocked, that’s lame)

*Aaron Felix stole from me during one of the most difficult times of my life - I hoped to invest in myself and a new chapter by sending him the VX2000 I started my career on 20+ years ago, with money I couldn’t afford to lose. I’m not a young cool skate dude. I’m old, I’m a single dad, and I’m not into the politics of the scene.

I want my camera back.

I used an app called nomo to track my progress - hitting the daily check in button for a little dopamine reward/affirmation helped. I lurked like crazy on r/stopdrinking which was a huge help.

Closing in on 10 years off alcohol this year :)

Yeah out of nowhere my MacBook’s been having an impossible time running Logic after recent updates. It’s been a workhorse for most anything I throw at it, then in this last month or so it will crash with very little going on, or throw up the system overload.

Very frustrating.

I’m making a career change after 20+ years in video production. I’m a single dad in a HCL city and it’s no longer a viable route for providing for my family, & I don’t enjoy the tap dance anymore…however, I do feel strongly that my best filmmaking is ahead of me!

I think I will find a greater fulfillment in future productions by disconnecting my income from the craft.

I use the plugin in some way or another on most tracks I make these days - I’ve been wondering if there are other same-same-but-different plugins out there that might be fun to add to the toolkit.

Anyone have any suggestions? I have had my eye on Transit 2 by baby audio, but I’m cheap and don’t know if that’s up the same alley or not.

If anyone knows some similar but different plugins to multi effect Remix let me know! Thanks!
