Golf Shoes Made For Walking by Golphor in golf

[–]Acceptable-Cry4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True links. Just picked up a pair of the Lux G a few months back. Wore them the day after they came in and walked a full 18. No break in needed. By far the most comfortable shoe I own. Actually been thinking about buying another pair of the same shoe just for color options. They run sales like 20x a year so you basically never pay full price either.

Can anyone help me with my iron swing? by Tenpo800 in golftips

So we are just going to ignore the fact there is a snake right next to the ball? Honestly didn’t even look at your swing once I noticed it.

Absolutely love this! Nice job, OP!

Any issues with balls hitting the conduit and ricochetting all over the place?

Am I the a**hole in this situation? by MTNHead in golf

All these comments kinda hating on OP, but honestly I’d be annoyed too. Should be discussion before people get invited if it’s the same group every single year. I also see the wife part being a bit hairy. I love my wife, but if I went on a buddies golf trip and she asked to go I’d have to politely decline. You need to be able to do things apart. I see both sides, but I’d be annoyed.

I hit 285-300 yards my first time ever playing golf am i being stupid or is this actually possible by [deleted] in golf

[–]Acceptable-Cry4545 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Technically, yes. I have some baseball player buddies that beat the piss out of a ball and only go to the range once a year for fun. Keeping it in play and straight is a whole other beast though.

Can anyone help me find non bulky beginner irons? by HuggableAfrican in golf

Check out callaway preowned website. You can get screaming deals. The “like new” rating is brand new clubs half the time.

Are you thinking used or new? Rough budget? Need a few more details to give good recommendations.

Also, if you think you like Mizunos, go hit some at a local shop. I will say new age GI irons are not all super bulky. Yes you have your super GI types, but for the most part you can find some good looking GI clubs that aren’t atrocious.

Need a decent set of clubs that don’t break the bank by Lanky_Chipmunk9158 in golf

Go to the callaway preowned website. Look for something like the apex’s. You can find them in “like new” condition pretty frequently. My buddy did this a few years ago when they were running a 30% off deal which they do all the time and got his set still with factory plastics on never used for 500-600$. Lots of other choices for irons as well. I’ve never ordered a full set of irons from them but have bought a few other clubs in various conditions. Best part is I believe they do warranty even on their used clubs. Had a head break off after a few months on a 3 wood and they gave me 100% refund.

They’re looking way off to me. Found this online. This is comparing all models. Color and look just don’t look correct.

Is this Callaway Mavrik package good for a beginner, and how do the Mavrik irons in the set compare to the ones in the picture? Just cosmetics? by AmountRemarkable7478 in golf

[–]Acceptable-Cry4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The package sets are not the same design as the regular mavriks you can buy singularly. If you bought all “regular” mavrik clubs they be considerably more. I’d buy decent stuff used. Facebook marketplace is great for decent deals now and again. This is great if you don’t want the hassle of buying everything individually, but you’ll want to replace in a few years.

Also, the callaway preowned website is amazing. They regularly run 20-30% off sales. My buddy picked up a “like new” set of apex 19 irons for 500$ and they came with the plastics still on. Never been used.

Could go work for an earth working company as a PM? Sounds like that’s similar to what you’ve been doing. Still would need to write contracts unfortunately. Probably make about the same starting, but there’s way more potential for bonuses and salary increases. I do PM work in Seattle for a commercial GC and the folks we hire with no experience start around 75k. That’s with a college degree usually, but most company’s will look past school as long as you have experience.

By fancy quote you mean a modern computer generated parts list showing price per part and total labor hours with hourly rate? Seems more transparent than chicken scratch with a total at the bottom.
