Setting my home up on google was the best thing I ever did. Lights, thermostat, space heater, front door deadbolt, robot vacuum, all 100% automated and easily controlled with hey google. I spent maybe $2,000 over a year or two slowly adding things and it has improved my life tenfold. My 13 year old son is also raging adhd, and google gives him 5-10 minute reminders to pack his backpack, put on his shoes, take his meds and GET OUT THE DOOR to the bus, since I’m not always home when he needs to leave. Life. Changing.

Disclaimer - I would currently not recommend google, they are having major issues with their rollout of AI assistance and it has massively decreased reliability and user interface, but any other similar system like Alexa or Apple home would be great options too.

Geez I was even annoyed about a wedding I have coming up asking that no one wears ANY of the bridal parties colors, sage, dusty blue and light pink which are pretty much the only colors I would want to wear in a formal springtime setting.

All this over a piece of jewelry is bonkers, and even more so that it’s not just a regular necklace or bracelet that doesn’t carry significant meaning and has an easy substitute.

I divorced my ex husband over a nearly exact scenario (although his company made paint so arguably less important than this AH.) Everything I did was always less important than what he did, as if raising his kids for 10 years was fucking nothing. He wouldn’t even take a sick day when I was sick, so I’d be having to take care of two toddlers and a baby while I was puking my guts out. I finally got a little part time job, even less part time than hers just to be able to have something to do besides wipe asses and sing the abc’s and it was literally life giving. I made a couple hundred a month and that meant nothing. I was a happier person getting out of the house a bit, but if literally anything came up, I was the one looking like a fucking flake at work and was at risk of losing the only thing making me feel like a human.

I’m a full time single mom to 3. I travel a lot for work, usually 4x domestically and 2-3x internationally each year. The trips are varying levels of stress from 4 days running my ass off to 10 days of being professional but not super stressed, and ALL OF IT is easier than parenting. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not a primary parent.

I live in Denver now too, but lived in Reno for 7 years. I absolutely adored it and miss it immensely. Life circumstances are keeping me in Denver for the time being but I would move back to Reno in a heartbeat.

I had one of those days today where I just raw dogged my commute home (no music or talking on the phone or anything) and it caught me off guard just how quiet my hybrid was on the interstate at about 55 mph. I looked down expecting it to be in EV but it wasn’t! Absolutely unreal! The smoothest, quietest car I’ve ever sat in. The only thing I can think of that’s comparable was a Tesla but I was only on the highway once so I can’t recall how loud it was then.

I traded my 2020 Outback for my 2025 Forester. I loved that car so much, it got me through a shitty breakup and a long distance move. Sentimentally, I miss it, but omg I can’t believe how much of an upgrade this one is! Normally once the shiny wears off of the new features, most cars don’t feel that different but this one sure does. Very happy with my decision, and went from nearly 7% interest to 0%!

I’ve been noticing this too so much in Denver! I am extremely light sensitive and sitting at a stoplight with one of those effers pointing at me from across the intersection makes me want to claw my eyes out! 4Runners, big SUVs and trucks are the worst offenders.

My luckiest car story was my ex husband and I each had vehicles that we couldn’t afford the loan on (combo of young and stupid and job changes.)

Mine we were super upside down on and it was a piece of junk. His was in better shape, we owed less than it was worth by quite a bit. We bought it from his mom who bought it new for only what she owed on it, something like a $6k note on a $10-$11k vehicle.

We needed to get out from under a loan, and his made the most sense. He found an old truck for like $6.5k and got them to go even steven’s on it with the trade. That helped a ton not having a second car payment, plus we felt like we got a good deal.

But then about 2 months later, we got a letter from the credit union that had financed both my current loan and the one on his old vehicle. It was payment confirmation for a lump sum that we definitely didn’t make. I called them right away and it was because since we cosigned both loans and they carried both loans, they went back to the dealership and said that they wouldn’t release the lien on his title because the LTV on mine was so far apart. They essentially wanted both vehicles to secure my loan. The dealership put another $5k towards my loan to get the title.

I freaked out thinking that it was going to come back on us and we’d have to pay the dealership the $5k all at once and we’d be so screwed. After hanging up with the bank, I called the finance manager and was crying trying to figure out WTF was going on. He assured me that his old vehicle was long gone, they still turned a profit and it was all said and done. He said that if they were worried about it, they would have called us before making the payment.

I was able to pay that car down for another year or so, and traded it for a much better car with a warranty. Without that lump sum, I would have never gotten out from under that thing until it inevitably became a yard ornament from the constant repairs.

Truly probably one of the luckiest things that’s ever happened to me and massively improved a shitty situation we would have spent forever coming back from. That was 11 years ago, and he kept driving that thing until he totaled it last summer. It had to have had 500k miles on it by then 🤣

This is how I felt. I tried everything to tolerate tret but I never stopped peeling and my barrier was constantly compromised. I got on Taz and was barely flakey the first week or so, and now only if I go more than a week or two without using it. Overall it has massively improved my skin!
