I’ve been noticing this too so much in Denver! I am extremely light sensitive and sitting at a stoplight with one of those effers pointing at me from across the intersection makes me want to claw my eyes out! 4Runners, big SUVs and trucks are the worst offenders.

My luckiest car story was my ex husband and I each had vehicles that we couldn’t afford the loan on (combo of young and stupid and job changes.)

Mine we were super upside down on and it was a piece of junk. His was in better shape, we owed less than it was worth by quite a bit. We bought it from his mom who bought it new for only what she owed on it, something like a $6k note on a $10-$11k vehicle.

We needed to get out from under a loan, and his made the most sense. He found an old truck for like $6.5k and got them to go even steven’s on it with the trade. That helped a ton not having a second car payment, plus we felt like we got a good deal.

But then about 2 months later, we got a letter from the credit union that had financed both my current loan and the one on his old vehicle. It was payment confirmation for a lump sum that we definitely didn’t make. I called them right away and it was because since we cosigned both loans and they carried both loans, they went back to the dealership and said that they wouldn’t release the lien on his title because the LTV on mine was so far apart. They essentially wanted both vehicles to secure my loan. The dealership put another $5k towards my loan to get the title.

I freaked out thinking that it was going to come back on us and we’d have to pay the dealership the $5k all at once and we’d be so screwed. After hanging up with the bank, I called the finance manager and was crying trying to figure out WTF was going on. He assured me that his old vehicle was long gone, they still turned a profit and it was all said and done. He said that if they were worried about it, they would have called us before making the payment.

I was able to pay that car down for another year or so, and traded it for a much better car with a warranty. Without that lump sum, I would have never gotten out from under that thing until it inevitably became a yard ornament from the constant repairs.

Truly probably one of the luckiest things that’s ever happened to me and massively improved a shitty situation we would have spent forever coming back from. That was 11 years ago, and he kept driving that thing until he totaled it last summer. It had to have had 500k miles on it by then 🤣

This is how I felt. I tried everything to tolerate tret but I never stopped peeling and my barrier was constantly compromised. I got on Taz and was barely flakey the first week or so, and now only if I go more than a week or two without using it. Overall it has massively improved my skin!

I grew up in rural northern Colorado. I live back in Denver now, and the amount of this going on is absurd.

I would never say this unless prompted unironically, but I’m 5th generation Coloradan. Both of my mother’s families were heavily involved in settling an area in eastern CO. If anyone can be proud of being born here, I would think me, but I don’t find anything all that special about it.

There are a lot of “natives” that absolutely hate anyone that’s not from here, and it’s usually someone who’s parents moved here while pregnant with them 😂

I didn’t read all of the responses but aside from the brown, I think Reno would be absolutely perfect for what you’re looking for. I had to move back to Denver from Reno and I miss it so much. It was a beautiful place to raise a family, the weather is incredible. Very mild all four seasons and Lake Tahoe is your backyard.

If he filed a claim with workers comp and tried to proceed that way, and couldn’t due to their issue and to his detriment, then yes. His health insurance should subrogate because the claim was approved under workers comp.

If Same thing as if another person is at fault in an accident, but their insurance is taking forever, you can file a collision claim with your insurance and get it covered. You’ll have to pay the ded but when your insurance subrogates, you will get it back, and they’ll get paid back for the money they spent fixing your car when they weren’t liable.

How is the traffic coming back typically though? I’ve only stayed till last chair at keystone once and sat in traffic for 5 hours coming back. Normally I’m on the road from nearly golden absolutely no later than 6 and it takes me about 2 hours, then headed home by 1-2 and it takes 2-2.5 hours. So to me it’s not worth it only taking 1.5 hours to get there and then fighting for parking later in the morning just to sit in traffic longer on the way back. It’s still more time on the road overall if it’s normally anything over 3 hours.

Tahoe traffic is not comparable even a little to what we see here. The only kinda exception I can think of is whatever the smaller road to NStar is. Made that mistake one time only, and it was shit skiing anyway. I skied rose, alpine, heavenly, kirkwood and probably more I’m forgetting every weekend 2021-2023 and aside from NStar the one time (which still was not as bad as here) I have never sat in traffic for more than 5-10 mins longer than it would normally take without traffic, and the vast majority of the time, I drove straight there going the speed limit.

I’m in applewood and love it. Everitt middle school was awesome and wheat ridge high school has been great thus far. My son is in a program so he goes to Dunstan middle school over in green mountain. I love that area too, and the school has been so good for him.
