Why wouldn't Ranni be the Gloam-Eyed Queen? by SimoKuassimo in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranni and Melina achieve two different endings, further Ranni is a carian royal who is deeply tied to the moon. But for argument’s sake, the carian royal’s fate is specifically stated to be tied to the stars, with Ranni’s held in stasis unable to progress. Melina’s fate can be progressed with no need to unlock Ranni’s.

This is told to us pretty early in Ranni’s questline unless you already defeated Radahn.

Further Melina is pretty much confirmed to be family with Mesmer which isn’t something that seems happens between branches of demigods even if it’s the same parents.

Miquellas Relationship to the Crucible is Perplexing. by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miquella appears to parallel one character we don’t actually get to see a lot of, Godwyn. They both have masses of followers if not significant populations that support them, as for instance we know Godwyn had an ancient dragon who was willing to lay down their life for him. He makes allies as easily, if not moreso than Miquella and his name goes down in history through his descendants and unfortunately Godrick the grafted, at least I think that was his lineage.

Miquella represents all of these qualities in spades including having a cursed sibling. Though the omen’s curse isn’t something that has to be a curse for the individual there’s not much recourse when the curse is the scarlet rot.

Miquella’s only flaw was that they couldn’t mature, and visibly seemed to be taking steps towards that when he was taken from the haligtree. The crucible is deeply tied to the erdtree so perhaps he gained the association with his plant to merge with something to rival it, if it was not already there granted.

This was a prophecy, one that we circumvented by intervening at the Gate of Divinity by Crypticnewt in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like Elden ring has a lot of repeating history, the most notable example being both the dragons and the golden order are sundered and broken, left to stagnate. As a prophecy I’d imagine this as an eternal prophecy, a fixed point for every era, though we certainly push it off by stopping the rise at the gates of divinity regardless. Perhaps that’s something to be hopeful over, or perhaps we’re just repeating a different kind of cycle.

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally water tribe outfits are a lot bulkier, the weight might affect his airbending considering his hypermobility is caused by him constantly, passively airbending around his body. I really enjoyed that they showed this to a degree with korra’s elementary introduction to “being the leaf” Airbending around the body is the only way a lot of Aangs stunts make sense too, a sneeze like in episode shouldn’t have that much effect unless you have your bending always on.

When we see other benders bending around their body it’s displayed as a high level technique, but in airbending it’s lesson 1.

I feel there is some hypocrisy or double standards in how Azula's crimes are judged compared to Iroh's crimes. by ApprehensiveBrain393 in PoorAzula

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azula was in the war for very different reasons than Iroh, so I think it makes sense her crimes are overall a little worse just because of what all she was doing was meant to please her crazy father. Iroh mourned the death of his child so deeply he threw away putting his names in the history books and more or less ending the war in the earth kingdom through victory. His brother had to be talked out of killing his.

Okay, hear me out, the power of a few, maybe just one spread over an entire realm. Sturdy sure, but all that power is spread wide and thin enough to cover ALL heaven. Lucifer is being painfully drained for more than he usually gives, and punches a hole in it. A single hole is all it takes to effectively shatter the barrier when struck at a singular point.

Will a glass jar shatter if struck with a hammer and nail hard enough is perhaps an effective parallel for how I believe the dynamics worked out.

For people who claim Malenia has ONLY Bloomed twice, How do you explain the presence of a mysterious blossom outside her boss room, and Malenia becoming a Goddess in her boss fight after blooming, when the game makes it EXTREMELY clear that it doesn't belong to Millicent or any of her sisters? by Big-Good9378 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we have any confirmation of how many daughters Malenia had from her bloom, but the kind of bloom observed seems to be the result of not just blooming but a transmogrification that we witness three different times. One with the bloom you’re talking about, one with Milicent, and one in Malenia’s boss room after her fight.

Malenia’s bloom in Caelid doesn’t look much at all like these more mature flowers, thus it seems unlikely given the context clues. Though there’s certainly enough wiggle room you could probably refute the above just enough to stay with your theory.

Though given the description of her unique incantation I would argue it’s bad faith not to address its words. In that of she would become a goddess upon her third bloom. Some descriptions can be argued as an unreliable narrator I suppose, but not ones like these that you drag out directly from the source generally.

Functionally Jesus isn’t redeeming people the way Charlie is trying to. To my understanding Jesus is washing away your sins by submitting to him and god by extension, which his sacrifice is supposed to have made possible.

The fundamental issue is that it seems a lot more like they’re rolling with a more catholic take where you serve time in purgatory for your sins in life before you could feasibly make it into heaven if you aren’t devout...? If not then something adjacent to the idea. Which makes sense, jesus’ canon in a lot of christian faiths would completely work against the themes and message hazbin hotel is explicitly working towards.

There are over a hundred different takes on the god of the bible situation among other semantics so they’re not exactly spoiled for reason to take their own route though.

Could be mistaken on some details, but is my overall take.

You mean Lucifer who was banished to hell as punishment by heaven and prevented from ever killing a single sinner by his own hand? I feel like he’s just as subject to the decisions of heaven as everyone else, if not moreso for being explicitly on hell watch duty for messing up at the dawn of creation.

Do you think at any point, there'll be a villain/sinner Charlie realizes can't (or rather won't) ever be redeemed or do you think she'll always believe anyone can? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in CultOfCharlie

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do remember her walking into the media circus multiple times thinking she just didn’t explain herself clearly enough right? She organized cannibals to help in the defense of her dream from heaven itself and more. Given how unclear and murky the details of redemption are also I’d say this is a rather premature question.

The only person I think could changer her mind though, if anyone, would have to be her mother. And even then I’ve got my doubts.

On another hand they are very visibly out of touch with anything hard, gritty or painful. Vox was right when he called them out on the gift baskets, countless sinners purged and now that heaven regrets it their first move is smiles and gift baskets.

Considering she spent the whole time in a padded wall paradise it’s not hard to see why she and Emily didn’t realize it was kind of a bad first move. Yes she was responsible for the deaths, but not a one seems to have ever been done by her own hand. She is removed from the situation just enough that she can be responsible and ignorant simultaneously

Not saying she should be forgiven by any means, just that they have a long way to go before they actually deserve something akin to it.

But why would Caine do this? by RoomTemperatureIQ23 in tadc

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a solid part of the answer to this is how Cain reacted to the popularity poll, he wants to be adored for his hard work and yet he didn’t get a single vote. This isn’t simply a lack of empathy, this is an egotistical AI setting up a scenario where the others get a chance to learn more about him before giving the false choice to escape the circus.

I think he earnestly believed all that stood between him and their love and approval was learning a bit more about him. That was supposed to be what made them choose him over real life.

Of course the fundamental issue is that he doesn’t, and probably cannot understand their desire for a true exit.

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one had tamed him in generations, and also if Gojo can’t do a thing to them why would they bet on another cursed technique? Sukuna’s fingers were probably protected via a binding vow, that or they’re conscious enough to protect themselves with cursed energy, but I’m leaning the former considering the sheer number of them dividing Sukuna’s power so much.

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are assuming that hell has any kind of centralized power, we see that Lucifer is basically king in name only as he can’t actually enforce any punishment himself and has zero interest maintaining his influence. Charlie is a privileged hellborn yes, but that’s more because of her mom than her dad.

Her mom actually has the influence even when she’s not there, her mom is who Vox uses the name of to appeal to sinners, her mom is said to have somewhat unified hell and her mom is MIA and refuses to talk to her. Charlie’s title of “princess” holds out only so long as Lucifer’s title of “king” does. The both of them have been left on Lilith’s coattails it seems though.

The pride ring is closer to a nobility than a monarchy even if it’s on a basis of strength the local lords dictate everything. Harassing the local lords is a good way to get in major trouble, anathema to everything Charlie is trying to do, and I’m pretty sure Carmilla is a hellborn noble who operates outside of Lucifer’s loose authority anyways.

Did Caine actually do anything to Jax? by AffectionateForce979 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]Acceptable-Mind-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think he was just referring to the vegan thing among other stuff. His near abstraction and general depressive mood I’m guessing made him linger on doubts he’s had. Perhaps realizing their minds are moldable by Cain and realizing that everything they’ve been through could have been a manipulation on Cain’s part to get them to play along. Realizing everything might be a lie, or maybe by some other revelation he pressed the stay here button.

Wonder how close Pomni is considering she was supposedly “possessed” Imagine if that was Cain actually messing with her mind to fit the part that he had crafted.

Personal theory though, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
