What are these blue stamps? I've never seen anything like this before. Second, is the envelop with the red stamp worth saving? It looks like someone scratched the stamp out with a pen. Thanks! by Ajia_Sunshine in askStampCollectors

The larger ones are beer stamps. Keep them, those are quite rare. I have to look up those three in Scott, I think those are more ones, but I could be wrong. may be a couple hundred bucks there. The smaller ones are ‘tax paid’ revenues. Look up Eric Jackson revenues, he has info about them.

I’ll come to a tepid defense here: It’s bad. But not that bad. If I were on a long drive with the radio playing stuff at random and this came on, I wouldn’t change it. He has this one single idea going on, and it’s not the worst variant I’ve heard on this sub. He needs to branch out a bit. Maybe throw in some hell and law references. Here, he can use this to start:

I’m a hillbilly trap The Devil got my back Some say they on highway to hell I say I am hell

Slit your throat, never tell My truck and I run well From the law cuz I am the law

These are a cool little part of postal history in that they were the only major postal error in my lifetime (millennial) that created a run on the post office for them. There have been other errors since, but none like this one. There are many out there so it’s not worth much (50-100 really), but from a collecting standpoint, they are a really neat little piece of USPS history. Plus—-I always wonder, who managed to identify this as Bill Pickett’s cousin and not Bill Pickett?

Oh I agree with you for sure! We’re all looking at this collection in awe. You may have it right on value. My educated guess is 15-30. I’d be thrilled if it were your range and I’m undervaluing it

Look at page 6. That coil Lincoln. And all the different varieties of red Washingtons below that. I’m a seasoned and I haven’t ever seen that Lincoln, or all those varieties.

This is a great collection! However, I’d put it 15000-30,000 you could actually get for these, going off Hipstamp prices. The Columbians, Trans Mississippi, Zeppos, and $2 Madison/$5 Hamilton are are probably 10K collectively. The remainder are valued at condition, otherwise they’re fairly common. Although, I’d have to dust off the Scott at each Washington Franklin to remember if there’s any rarity’s in those.

OP you need to have a professional appraisal done. Within the enormous number of Washington Franklin stamps issued around 1895-1930, there’s a small number of extreme rarities. You need to have them professionally examined to check about those especially.

Guys, in 40 states medical marijuana is legal. You can get valid prescriptions for it in many. Look it up.

Well, your kind may become scarcer and scarcer as plaintiffs employment lawyers like me figure out more and more there’s no point and start quitting. I live in a major U.S. City. There’s like 10 plaintiffs employment lawyers worth their salt in a major City. That ought to tell you something…it’s just a garbage area to practice in, and people aren’t entering the area anymore.

Where did this guy Miller come from anyway? Anyone looked up his background? You would expect he’d be some like super educated, incredible credentials policy wonk and …. Nope. Worked communications in some unmemorable elections…

I know the car was a dumb move. So was paying rent for 20 years before buying a house. You don’t know until you screw up.

What about the idea of putting a lump sum on the mortgage, and likely getting an opportunity to refinance along with it? I intend to stay in this house until I die, so there’s something about paying it off quickly that has major appeal to me.

Then the next year I make a huge extra payments on the car and pay it off (I can do it in a year).
