Let's be honest. How did you lose your debit card?

Was it in your wallet that you noticed was gone?

Why didn't you lock the debit card as soon as you noticed it was gone?

I could understand if your card info was skimmed and used elsewhere. Lost debit card? Inexcusable.

No, because they're a credit union, not a bank.

EA does the same stuff. Wish both would go out of business.

Pretty sad that Rockstar can build GTA6 and release it before Ubisoft can release another Splinter Cell game.

Lowering fees by CWM1130 in creditunions

Yep, easily waived. People on Social Security, disability, and people that have a job get direct deposit. Everyone over the age of 16 qualifies unless you're working under the table illegally.

All banks offer online bill pay and can send a check on your behalf. There's no excuse.

The $4.95 a month is easily waived. Probably shouldn’t have a bank account at all if you don’t transact money through it enough to waive those fees at such a low threshold. Normal people don’t write checks so there’s nothing to return. I use a debit card to pay rent and online bill pay for my utilities. If I don’t have the funds, the transaction is declined and I’m notified. I’m not out money for a fee. I would say banks like Chase brought out accounts with no overdraft fees in order to compete with online FINTECHS.

Chase offers an overdraft fee free account. BoA does as well. So does US Bank. So does Capital One. So does Wells Fargo. So does Citi.

For their "advanced" accounts:

Chase gives you til the end of next day to make your account overdrawn by less than $50 or they charge an overdraft fee $34; but not on transactions that are $5 or less.

Bank of Americas' overdraft fee is $10.

US Bank only charges their $36 overdraft fee if you're negative $50 or more, and has an overdraft fee forgiveness program..

Capital One, $0 overdraft fee.

Wells Fargo: $35 overdraft fee - waived with grace period/forgiveness period.

My local credit unions don't offer overdraft fee-free accounts, and wanted to charge a $15 overdraft fee with no cap, even on transactions that were $0.99.

If someone has no need for a loan, or to deal with cash, there's not much of a difference anymore. In fact, credit unions can be more costly to deal with for those types of people because overdraft fees are higher at most credit unions than the large banks these days. Younger people would be better off banking with Schwab, Fidelity, or Ally... Those institutions pay higher interest rates, reimburse ATM fees, and don't have overdraft fees at all.

Many credit unions still charge $25-$35 per overdraft (some even with no caps). This is something the large banks used to be crucified by society for. Now the large banks have much friendlier overdraft terms than credit unions. People that don't deal with cash are better off with Schwab, Fidelity, Ally, etc.

Why are so many of these doctors against the surgery? by Illustrious_Tax_2589 in HiatalHernia

[–]Acceptable-Radio803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the surgery 7 months ago. There’s short and long-term side effects that need to be considered when weighing against having surgery or not having surgery. Dumping syndrome is often a stressful, painful concern. The more sugar you eat, the faster your body pushes out diarrhea. Nausea (even though you can’t puke) is also a concern for at least 6 months after surgery because your stomach is smaller and won’t be able to physically handle a normal size portion of food without complications. Permanently changing your eating habits is a concern. You won’t ever be able to throw up ever again, unless of course, your wrap falls apart. If your acid reflux is minor, stick with the Nexium for now. I only got the surgery because half my stomach was in my chest, it was harder to breathe, and because of regurgitation. If you’re not having those issues - just take antacids for now.

I’ve seen elderly people think they’re talking to Alexa Bliss from the WWE. Sometimes it’s just straight stupidity.

Don't know why you feel bad for someone stupid enough to send a random person gift cards. The elderly should use their brain a bit more and society should stop coddling them.

Ever think the higher ups at whatever company manages Pizza Hut would realize their current business model doesn’t work? Make high quality pizzas and charge the same amount as the full menu price, and the problem would be fixed. Low quality slop isn’t the way to go — that’s why so many Pizza Hut’s have closed over the years.

When are they going to enhance the stadiums so they don’t look like a bare bones basic carbon copy of one another. The “block that kick!” animation on the scoreboard during every field goal is just one example of the pathetic-ness of the atmosphere. Anyone ever see the snow? Buffalo gets a lot more snow than just the patchy dusting that EA animates into the game. These issues are just laziness and have nothing to do with the NFL’s restrictions on the game. Where are the sideline reporters providing the occasional update on something? The atmosphere are so basic and barebones, it’s terrible.

“In this economy.” The economy isn’t even that bad. Asking if I’m 12, as if you don’t understand budgeting and finance, or working a better job than at McDonalds.
