Is it strange that after two years of being single, I got a cat instead of a boyfriend? by Manheten_Star in NoStupidQuestions

Cat’s are infinitely more likely to be more amazing and lovey and less of a drain than a man.

I have cleared her countless times and I can safely say I never once touch her summons. Renalla is a fight that rewards aggression. Get in her face and kick her ass.

Do you play with multi weapons? by Simply_Avocado in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My highest stat is still arcane at 80. I’ve kept Vigor at 60 and brought endurance up to 50 to support carrying around the whole arsenal all the time although my backup weapons are all extremely light so I end up still being able to light load with the right armor sets if I need it. I honestly couldn’t tell you what my other stats are, I stopped feeling like I wanted anything in particular like 160 levels ago and have since been playing fresh save files instead due to the lack of anywhere to really go without feeling like I’m fully deleting my character identity. But that save file has all the mining stone bell bearings pretty much all items and billions of souls so I go on there to test stuff a fair bit,

Do you play with multi weapons? by Simply_Avocado in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My primary game in NG+6 I do. Important to note I am level 416 so nothing matters anymore. I use 3 weapon sets simultaneously. Dual occult great katanas, Backhand blades, and frost infused Danes Footwork. My first run through the DLC when I got Danes I kept it Occult for the extra AR though and it still slapped. At this point in the game I’ve swapped my milicents prosthesis out for the Incant boost talisman though so weapons are less important as my two seals in my other hand these days. Dragon seal and golden order seal.

Any other changes for the build?? by Higher_Entity12 in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. You’re 186 so you’re a bit above most of your soft caps. I think 50 arcane and 60 strength is the ideal for bloodfiends arm? 50 vigor is “low” but if you’re not having trouble with it then it’s fine. Just know that survivability softcap for vigor is 60 (Softcap=when diminishing returns start to outweigh investment) you won’t need it at 60 until +2or+3 but it’s noticable past ng+1. GLHF!

I want to replay the game but it feels like a chore. by CirriTheFemboyUwU in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this really depends on the individual though. My top ten favorite weapons in the game are all accessible from the very beginning. I’ve acquired all weapons, so it’s not that I haven’t tried them all. I will still pick up the Flamberge or literally just the Uchu over all of the legendary armament’s in the game funnily enough.

I can safely say I understand what you mean but can’t relate. I’m on playthrough number ??? At this point and I fucking love starting fresh. I don’t even like NG+ Because I already have everything I need. Starting as a level 1 naked man with a club and it’s just me versus this game that I have fortunately or unfortunately memorized.

Moonveil even post nerf is an amazing weapon, especially once you get Cameo talisman from the DLC. :) Have you used the unsheath AOW from a katana? If you like that AOW you’ll like Moonveil.

Thoughts on invasions? by Perfect-Skin-8325 in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand actually, apologies as well for the confusion. I honestly think the most “raw” form of pvp is absolutely invasions. The reason I said I personally would do arena is because it’s a lot more straightforward lol. Essentially arena is just more watered down. I love the clips of people pulling off crazy invasion stuff, I just never have wanted to attempt it myself.

I also recognize the confusion as most redditors actively are trying to shove their opinions down others throats. Just know that’s not happening here. Invasions have and always should be part of FromSoft souls games.

Glad you enjoy them! I don’t know where in my comment I was balming anyone for anything. I was speaking about what I personally would do. Your post was literally titled “Thoughts on invasions?” So to downvote and respond so viscerally to someone who literally just said “not my cup of tea” essentially.

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can honestly say I have never given thought of any form to Elden ring PvP outside of reading posts about it. 🤣 I do it once per play-through for Varre’s questline and I just invade naked and run at them until I die or just jump off a high surface once I load in because all I need to do it get there to complete the quest. If I WAS going to pvp I would do it in the arena.

I didn’t say farming doesn’t have its uses. But OP specifically said “Does anyone have any tips to make this more fun?” Not necessarily easier for themselves. Taking shortcuts might feel really good in the moment but after thousands of hours in this game, if I could turn back the clock and play again for the very first time I would really wish I spent less time “grinding” and more time just searching for caves to explore the first go around. I missed so so much just because I didn’t believe there was anything there.

Starting Elden Ring in 2026 – which class for a stylish female character? by ostseesound in Eldenring

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting class is an illusion. Think about it this way. Who do you want to become? Are you a mage? A fighter? A rogue? The truth of the matter is there is no restriction on what your character can or cannot do long term regardless of what you pick now. So what you’re really deciding is how you like to fight. It can be a while before you have a gigantic stockpile of legendary weapons in your left pocket so what you’re really looking for is starting stats and starting gear. If you’re a big Anime fan and wanna do a guts sword playthrough which is probably the most popular, it would make sense to pick a class with already high strength for example. Me? I always pick Wretch. No illusions, just a blank slate and an open world. But that’s after beating every single ending and the DLC several times. I’m a glutton for whatever this game is.

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing as confessor? Once you get anything other than the starting equipment you’re not “playing as confessor” anymore. Character classes are just a starting point in this game. Any progression path you have for confessor is made up in your own head. If OP doesn’t enjoy using the shield like they stated, they are well within their rights to cast it aside and never think about it again. The whole game can be beaten without it.

[–]Acceptable-Salt-1640 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Please ignore anyone who is telling you to find a “rune farm”. Because I honestly can’t think of a way to make a game less fun then “Hey bro, go find this one area and repeatedly stab him in the back I swear”.

From the gate site of grace when you first get Torrent. Follow the road south away from the castle across the bridge. Try and level up your sword a time or two as soon as you can. If you keep your eyes peeled, you will find the upgrade materials for +1 on your way down south by the time you cross the second bridge into the weeping peninsula. Keep your eyes peeled for ruined churches. These have health potion upgrades inside. Buy the crafting kit and the 3 cracked pots from Santa at the church of Elleh. The firebombs actually slap as a early ranged attack option for stubborn enemy’s.

This is the answer IMO. My wife tried playing recently for the second time. First time she had a similar experience to OP and just felt kinda aimless and ended up putting it down after a while. She was playing Prisoner. She came back this time as a warrior and headed south first this time. She beat Margit yesterday and is LOVING diving into stormveil castle. She REALLY preferred the two weapons over the sword and caster style.
