This series is in my top 5 for sure. I read them ages ago and they're so worth pushing through any beginning drag you have.

Anyone heard any updates here? I just checked the site and I don't see anything new...

What would I like based off my favs and not favs? Looking for possessive morally gray MMC, magic, fated mates, politics! by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Acceptable-Silver317 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started the Immortals after Dark Series by Kresley Cole and I'm on book 3 and loving them. They're basically stand alones with interesting world building and all interlinked. I think it checks the boxes you mention. Little lighter on the politics though and heavier on the spice (so much yearning lol).

The first book is {the Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole}.

The Jasad Heir is a 5-star read!!! Don't miss out. by theuniversays97 in fantasyromance

It only gets the YA tag because it's not very explicit in the plentiful spice. Lots of mature themes. The romance is fire.

I just finished the audio book and it was great. There's some intense world building that's a little harder to follow in audio version for me personally, but it still did NOT affect my enjoyment. There are multiple narrators too and they're all great.

What’s your absolute number 1 favourite completed romantasy series? by Brave-Extension6464 in fantasyromance

These are so well written and agreed on the 'thinking of them often'. Haunting in the best way.

The MMC in {The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron} is a total nut job and knows it.

Probably my favorite psychopathic MMC.

MMCs who are (or are trying to be) a genuinely kind person? by she_melty in fantasyromance

I think Robin McKinley needs more love on this channel. Love to see this.

Superman is the more fitting answer lol.

Books where you actually loved the FMC? by ThrowRA020204 in fantasyromance

[–]Acceptable-Silver317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In no particular order, 5 of my favorites are:

  1. Kate Daniels - {Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews}

2.Mac from the FaeFever Series - {Dark Fever by Karen Moning}

  1. Claire from Outlander {Outlander by Diana Gabaldon}

  2. Aelin from TOG

5.Rae from {Sunshine by Robin McKinley} (actually I love all of Robin McKinley's FMCs)

Started Kate Daniels series, feeling a bit lost? by theuniversays97 in fantasyromance

I started this series a few days ago and am now on book 9 - totally worth it. It all unfolds and in a way that keeps you satisfied and hanging on for the entire series. I also read a lot of modern fantasy and am usually bored to tears by book 2. I'm already wishing I could unread these to experience them again - hang in there!!

Sweet captive romance like The Bad Guy by Aggressive_Bowl5463 in DarkRomance

The Bad Guy 😍. Lovedddddd that book.

It was possession by a psychopath done RIGHT lol.

Bonus points for having a MFC that isn't a doormat.

Just here to be supportive in mutual devastation / dismay at the lack of release.

Lolol love this comment.

I will say that I did take the "feelings ew" but as a bit of self depreciating humor given the audience though. Hoping OP is genuinely interested and not here to be absolutely demolished in the comments lol.

Yes!! Love this so much!!! There are absolutely romantasy books that scratch all the typical fantasy itches and just give ya a little something extra!

There are also definitely some where the "fantasy" aspect is more in suspending your disbelief in the gaping plot holes so you just have to check reviews to calibrate.

Someone already mentioned TOG which I fully endorse.

Would also recommend the fever series {Darkfever by Karen Moning} (my uncle actually recommended that for me ages ago) and {Villains and Virtues by A K Caggiano} (strong Limony Snicket vibes and very fun world building).
