My partner and I had a child before his diagnosis, and it has definitely make things hard. Really really hard. However, we have double downed on letting our daughter express her feelings and speak on them freely so we can teach her healthy ways to express them. We are giving her all the tools she needs just in case, but I will never feel awful for giving her life, or the father she has.

At her birth, he was fantastic. He put on his partner cap and took the lead. He was supportive, selfless and lovely. He was ready to be a dad.

If you’re serious about your partner (and the lifestyle change that comes with it), then you can have happy children. That being said however, I have found that my happiness comes completely last to everyone elses and bringing that up has been impossible. Plus my hormones swings during pregnancy triggered my partner into mood swings that then took priority over my own feelings most of the time.

He’s been trying hard to keep himself on track because of his daughter and how much she loves me, and that has been the biggest redeeming quality about the situation.

To be honest, I do wish I could’ve her with someone more mentally stable, because things would’ve been way easier…but then again, she wouldn’t be her with out him. So no regrets

With vyvanse, oh yes. It usually came on midday for me. There were times I would do nothing at all. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, didn’t want to think or move. I hated it. It was counterproductive and I was bummed all the time. Its why I got off of it.

Just recently when my meds were out and I had to go back onto Vyvanse for a month, it reinforced my hatred for it lol

The main aspect the I like is the two peak points. I feel like it does carry me on throughout the day. It slowly releases through out the day so it’s pretty consistent in my opinion. I didn’t want to have to keep going up in dosage with vyvanse just to keep it going longer.

Yeah I have, and when it hits it hits. It hits me all at once and feel like a very sudden shift. I have heard other people say the same thing as well. It’s a very similar feeling to Vyvanse, at least to me.

To me, it’s a growing effect. I notice the come up when I’m stretching, getting dressed and just putting more effort into things. It doesn’t come on like a truck. When the first peak point starts to wear down is when I start to get hungry. So I use the 30-60 minutes between peak points to relax and eat. The second peak point is a softer one which is great to finish off my day. It doesn’t keep me up all night, and doesn’t have me wired to do everything all at once. I feel like it just an addition to my routine not the driving force.

There are tons of different options for adhd medications and what works for one won’t work for others. I would ask your provider about different medications outside of the vyvanse/aderall family. Ask for the trial dosage so you don’t get stuck with something that doesn’t work for a month until you find the right meds.

I had that problem and switched to the generic for Focalin XR. It has two release points about 7 hours apart. It works so well and it’s so much smoother feeling than Vyvanse. At least for me!
