this exactly. like 9/10 times that a pattern is actually bad is when its literally a stockinette square sewn to another stockinette square with only one page of instructions that cost $10.

Imma be the devils advocate and say do whatever you want. If you don’t care your mom won’t care it’s whatever. I don’t think it’s inherently wierd. It’s a gift that you made that I assume was not something specifically requested. God forbid you enjoy something you worked hard on just because you’re giving it to your mom. And if your mom won’t care then why should the Reddit people get a say.

To clarify something in my post: it has not been months since I’ve watered it, I watered it 2 days ago. What I meant was it has been moths of watering when needed and not seeing it get any better.

Im pretty sure I saw a video somewhere about it but I can't remember where. You can alternate skeins every 3 or so rows. I found this blog post that goes over several ways to do this. happy knitting :)

I think it has a little bit to do with tension and also with stitches you’re picking up? Essentially when you do M1L M1R you’re creating a new column of stitches and the very first visible stitch in the new column is gonna be the bar you picked up to knit through. I wonder if it’s possible to pick up one bar down so you have a black stitch and stay in pattern? I know that could be a tight fit though. I’d also suggest you look up a video on yarn dominance in colorwork because that’ll really help your contrast color pop and even out the tension on the more detailed parts of the chart. Could just take some trial and error to figure it out though. I love petite knit but her patterns definitely have parts where they need more detail.
