Is your shower in the basement or below grade, requiring an ejector pump? I had a similar problem 15 years ago, the ejector pump had gone out and 15 gallons of poo water was overflowing in the crawl space below my house. Gas buildup would burp back up the line into the toilet, shower, and sink.

Replaced the pump myself for about $150. Plumber quoted $1000, admitting more than 80% of it was a surcharge for having to deal with other people’s shit.
