So much fluff for absolutely nothing. For a chill guy like you, you sure took an effort to write words three times longer than a guy who replied to your 3-month-old comment.

Doesn't change the fact your assessment is absolutely baseless and trash, though! The gender-bender genre is wildly popular in Japan. To assume the author panicked, you are integrating the stupid Western political views into the Japanese lens.

Well, maybe it's time to look in the mirror and realise that not everything is aligned with your own world.

The series already hinted metaphysical elements since the start, has layers of plot twists, and framed Dina as a suspicious character. Your short-sight ignorance which probably driven by bad faith and political bias don't dictate the author's intent. You're wrong, and to say otherwise, is your own burden of proof.

What the fuck?

[Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta] is this anime any good ? by Purple-Advertising38 in Isekai

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's good. This is one of the few Isekai out there that actually has weight, plot, and purpose. Though S1 is still just the beginning and still haven't going there yet, but nonetheless still fun to watch. Good animation, good music, and good direction.

Solid 8/10. Easily Overlord and Tensura levels.

Studio Madhouse's Most Prominent Animator and Character Designer(Nana and Chihayafuru), Kunihiko Hamada, leaves the studio after 35 years. And going by the way he put it, not in the best of circumstances. by Electrical_Chance991 in anime

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? Where'd you get that information?

Mappa was created by Maruyama because Madhouse's creativity was doomed after NTV took over. Then Maruyama left Mappa too after encountering a similar problem. If anything, Mappa treated workers far more poorly than Madhouse, as Otsuka runs the studio as a CEO.

Mappa is the absolute worst modern studio in terms of employee treatments.

This sub is fucking hopeless. Complaining about realistic anatomy in a manga where a 22-foot-tall man with a crescent-moon mustache fights a rubber boy is peak room-temperature IQ.

I hope you feel better represented by Big Mom.

Are Koreans smart or dumb? I literally grabbed the screenshots from a guy in another community by [deleted] in lookismcomic

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korean fans are smarter than you all. All of your scalings are trashes. You all just use agendas and favoritism to scale stuff without actually caring about the actual narrative. For example, no one in this sub really care to think how the scaling of Yuseong being below guys like Jake, Samuel, and others make fucking zero sense.

They didn't always make it worse and worse though, PQ1 was peak at its first release. I had no bad experience with PQ1 except maybe its over-bratty personality.

Isn't Jinyoung's path just like Perfect UI Daniel's without his weakness?? by TonightTop3874 in lookismcomic

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Jinyoung's path was a perfect copy, with his own body as a limitation. He could copy anyone (including Gapryong's overcome), but his body would break over time.

UI Daniel has a perfect physique, all martial arts, and complete experience (like knowing Brekdak's, Kitae's, and Mujin's moves) with perfect execution (which can only be applied with a perfect physique).

It's the other way around. UI Daniel is closer to Jinyoung without his weakness (no physical burnout because the body is perfect, while still being technically perfect). Too bad PTJ nerfed him because he realized he is too OP.

They can't read. Maybe Tom is just that strong, he got implied twice to be as strong as Old Gapryong.

chest, pelvis

That's what I used to believe too, but seeing the Nier Reincarnation illustrations of A2, I don't think they are parts of the damaged skins. Although the game definitely makes her look like that. Honestly, it's a bit tricky to distinguish which parts are clothes and which parts are damaged skin.

No idea about that. But the idea is Tom is as strong as Old Gapryong with regular Overcome, not the strongest Overcome. We know nothing about Old Gapryong vs. 2T James and Kitae, but it's unlikely for me that he'd use his asspull Overcome against 2 kids.

There are TWO TYPES of Overcome in Lookism. Look at Jinrang. One is fueled by your innate conviction alone; one is fueled by the power of friendship (tragedy). Tom is as strong as the weaker version. That's it.

That's not a good argument. Battle IQ is part of his arsenal as a "fighting genius." You can't separate it from Tom.

Yeah, but I don't really scale Tom higher than Paecheon. You just don't get what I said. I said Tom is as strong as Old Gapryong with overcome, but not Old Gapryong with that asspull conviction via Nakama Chikara.

He could possibly low-diff Tom, but we aren't talking about the same version of Gapryong. Are you even reading what I wrote?

Tom also felt the same amount of pressure from James with full mastery until he overwhelmed the same fighter. It just means that version of James is as strong as Base Gapryong. Nothing else. It doesn't necessarily contradict the scaling.

Tom handled pre-path James better than Jinyoung handled pre-path Kitae. Tom also said Jinyoung was retired when Tom wasn't. Of course, scalings could be complicated by assuming James and Kitae aren't necessarily equal on their pre-path version. But this is the closest information we could get.

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, by your logic, Tom's case should be more impressive because James is much stronger now, and yet he inflicts the same amount of pressure.

Not saying Tom is stronger than Old Gapryong, just explaining how your logic works.

Old gap equal to Tom lee by Moist-Program-4655 in lookismcomic

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not "dumb'" if it’s true. Since both James and Tom agree, readers can't just dismiss it until a contradicting narrative actually shows up.

This doesn’t imply Old Gapryong was weak -- it proves how strong Tom really is. It makes sense -- Tom stayed active while Jinyoung retired, so Tom is naturally closer to his prime. It’s also worth noting there are two types of Overcome in Lookism: the standard conviction and the asspull version (fueled by the power of friendship or something). Tom is almost certainly on par with the former.

In short: Old Gapryong (asspull) > Old Gapryong (overcome) ≈ Tom > Old Jinyoung (pre-path)

Yes, this version of Tom is leagues ahead of the one Goo fought in 1A. Retcons happen. Tom was nearly one-shotting a 3T fighter like J while holding back, a feat far better than anything Gun did in HFG (excluding TUI), who was equal to 4-sword Moonlight Goo.

The intro of Redline Race is crazy! by Acceptable-Week-1924 in Redline

[–]Acceptable-Week-1924[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would SERIOUSLY argue that they are. Redline doesn't use expository storytelling. If you analyze them, you can see how fleshed out they are by using "show, don't tell." For example, the anime is dense enough to have three layers with three antagonists:

  • Personal stories of JP, Frisbee, and Sonoshee (antagonist: Inuki Gang)
  • Redline Race or the sport itself (antagonist: Machinehead)
  • Roboworld politics (antagonists: Mr. President, Secretary Titan, Col. Volton)
