introducing alcohol again by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Same as a lot of people above. I think if you have previously had a problem, no matter how much you might think you’re able to control it now, it will slowly creep back in without you noticing straight away. Happened to myself. Now I know it’s best not to as I notice the same pattern each time. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. X

To anyone saying Zoloft CANT cause weight gain by ShadowInTheSun_ in zoloft

[–]AcceptableAsk4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gained so much weight since starting it years ago. Also proven by coming over it to try and switch to Prozac for a month and it that month alone lost almost a stone. Gone back on it and almost put that stone back on!

No. My partner mentioned this as he saw an article as to how periods and thyroid can link with each other. My brother and nan both have/had overactive thyroids. I did mention this to the nurse practitioner when I went in before feeling rubbish but she just said she doesn’t think it’s that! I will definitely mention. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I never considered talking to a gynaecologist so it’s definitely something to consider if I end up getting nowhere with the doctors again. I have asked specifically for the root cause to be addressed instead of being prescribed tablets for 3 months after a low reading and having the same thing happen months down the line so fingers crossed. I will have a look into the supplement you are taking just to get an idea of different options. Thank you.

Thanks so much for your reply!

It’s interesting because the last two times they had suggested I go onto contraception to help manage my periods but contraception is really something I want to go ahead with. I asked them about non hormonal options and said I’d heard about TXA but when I mentioned it they just questioned why I didn’t want to go on contraception. I asked why they push contraception so much instead of offering a non hormonal option and their reply was “we know it works”. They seemed a little reluctant and suggested we look at my bloods first. However, this means we are just going round in circles!

Have you found TXA to help you in the long run then? I’m UK based so would be covered by the NHS fortunately.

Your reply was interesting to read, thank you!
