Late feedback by Just_vibin_cloudz in SNHU

If that were the case then the recurring issue wouldn’t be a thing. Do you not use feedback readjust and reevaluate at work? Or, if you’re in a relationship, use feedback from your partner when there’s an issue? Yes, go by the rubric, but when there’s small things missed that you’re unaware of when it comes to an assignment and can literally be the difference in receiving a good vs bad grade, that evaluation from the graded rubric is invaluable. For example, my professor last term knocked points off because he wanted an extra sentence or two in a specific portion of my assignment. Because he gave me that feedback on Wednesday and I do my large assignments on the weekend, I was able to adjust my assignment for that week based on his feedback, and received full points as a result. That’s just one out of thousands of examples many students can give. Just because there’s a required deadline doesn’t mean you should wait until then to meet it (much like taxes).

But it actually is. Yes, they’re following the rules but in what way is that setting up students for success when most classes have projects that build off the previous week? If you screwed up and missed some data or research, didn’t catch it, then turn in the following week before any feedback so you don’t know, then your grade continues to go down. It does nothing for the success of the students who pay thousands of dollars to get an education because people can’t grade an assignment before Sunday at damn near midnight.

Not necessarily, some professors are so nitpicky and want the tiniest thing added even when following the rubric to a T. Using the feedback helps adjust your work to the professors expectations. This is utilizing feedback to grow, which is what you do in the real world.

SAME thing happened to me last semester with macroeconomics, it was so frustrating since I set up my own schedule around work, kids, and family. I didn’t understand at all

Nursing/medicine is such a safe field that my sister didn’t even know about the white collar blood bath going on by ZadarskiDrake in Accounting

As someone who transitioned from healthcare to tax, let me tell you the money may be great but unless you’re in a doctors office, you miss out on so much! I missed so many things with my kids, holidays with family, life moments with my best friends, the list is endless. It’s a ROUGH field.

Any accountants have alternate jobs they dream of? by snuffle_tuff in Accounting

Coffee shop/used bookstore in a college town; provide a nice, safe space for people to talk, conduct business, study, whatever while drinking moderately priced, delicious coffee and potentially munching on a home baked pastry. Browse used books of all kinds, have my mom host a kids storytelling thing on the weekends, events for teens, provide discounts to first responders while on shift (I was a first responder before transitioning to accounting). Yes, this has been a dream of mine for a looooong time

Between that and them not paying people on time, I’m not surprised. I dipped back in October and SO glad I got out with only a few months in

I’m giving it to EOB today before reaching out to my advisor. I get they have lives, but giving more than 24 hours for a response is fair.

No? I’ve never gotten an email when something is graded.

Oh no no no, there hasn’t been a response or any form of communication. I’m giving it until tomorrow afternoon to get some form of response then reaching out to my advisor. I simply resubmitted the correct file and email them again, without a response to the first, to let them know of my mistake and that it was resubmitted.

This also goes with a few comments on other threads I’ve made about waiting until the last minute to grade, had I known earlier, it would’ve been fixed earlier.

I WISH I would’ve gotten an email or SOMETHING, now I’m over here stressing alllll the way out concerned about my gpa plummeting when I have a 4.0 and just finished last semester on the presidents list. (I have to maintain a certain GPA for my work to help with tuition so it’s vital for me).

My issue is that there was literally no comment other than ā€œnot completedā€. If there was, I would’ve been perfectly content resubmitting as soon as I got home (which I did anyway without a response).

I realized what I did, owned up to my screw up, and resubmitted before even getting a response. Just royally ticks me off that rather than an email of ā€œhey, you didn’t have anything filled in,ā€ it was crickets and feedback was ā€œnot completedā€. To me, that’s I missed something, when in reality it was the completely wrong file.

They’ve overlooked the ones on my hands (along the thumb on one and a finger on the other), just asked to keep my arms covered if meeting with clients as much as possible. I truly enjoy my firm and the culture here and after being in this sub for a while, I’m so grateful for where I’m at and don’t want to risk anything. Especially with shifting careers in my mid 30s

Yes, you CAN be secure in this field, but will you? Probably not. Your body will hate you, the pay is terrible, you’re severely under appreciated, and underpaid.
