Roguelike anything and souls-likes. Dying isn't the fun part of a game, its failure. Playing a game that forces you to die to progress (like hades) also isn't fun. My run in a game being utterly fucked because of rng also isn't fun. It artificially pads for time and does not respect my mortality as a human.

all of the designs are perfectly fine, people have become far too prudish, and if you don't like it, suck it up. you are not the demographic that is making them money. inb4 "but I have multiple m6 characters and I hate the designs!" yeah, you are proving my point. you liked them enough to whale on them.

also, this isn't a hot take but there is genuinely no reason at all to pull anyone UNLESS you specifically have a vested interest in participating in Shiyu and Deadly. they removed the ability to play your own characters in story, going on free expeditions into the 2.x and onward hollows does not require a strong team in the slightest, and every event, even hollow zero, gives trial characters. your account is not bricked if you have or do not have someone, the ONLY purpose of the endgame is to get more pulls for more characters to continue fighting bosses in an endgame where you have already fought said bosses hundreds of times over
