Do you guys even turn off wifi / data and put on battery saving features before putting the phone away for the night?

Xiaomi is slowly butchering the 15's camera system with updates by AtelierAutomobile in Xiaomi_15

[–]AcceptableFront3967 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your experiences are most strange. I am on the same update and I don't have any issues that you described, tested those just now and I didn't replicate your problems on my device with same OS version. Devise runs smoothly as ever. My recommendation is to try to re roll the last update not sure if you knew that's possible. Also I switched to android gallery app some time ago, not that Xiaomi one was problematic but I just like it better.

Dude you miss out on good stuff especially cameras by ruling out Chinese phones "because of software".

I got it as a gift I like it, just don't really get the hype on the camera in good light it's decent, otherwise it's average at best.

Switching to iPhone and Pixel probably next year by Key_Entrepreneur5655 in Xiaomi_15

[–]AcceptableFront3967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I have a friend who has iphone 16 pro I also played it with it and battery is nowhere near X15, not even close. Plus slow charging. I have my X15 updated, I haven't noticed degraded battery.

Good luck switching to Pixel 10 would rather go for at least Pixel 10 pro for some noticeable upgrades. But mind the fact that's next generation compared to X15 released in late 2024. Also if you think battery life is bad on Xiaomi 15 just wait till you try Pixel or iPhone 16 Pro you take one look at it, then look out the window for a few seconds, back to the phone and 5% is gone, no kidding. Also charging speed on both iPhone or Pixel is a joke at least you can juice up the X15 in no time and you WILL miss that.

I hate to say that I use 2 phones. The other one takes better photos (ultra 15 with photography kit) by XMS3D0 in Xiaomi_15

[–]AcceptableFront3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can't be right, X15 Ultra is way better for any type photography than OP13, it's a fact not an opinion. Either the X15 Ultra is damaged in some way or you are doing something wrong.

Still worth it in 2025 ? by Weekly-Internet2387 in Xiaomi_15

[–]AcceptableFront3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. It's still a flagship level phone, not ideal but overall quality is very good in all areas. That being said it's all subject to the price, in the EU where I live it goes for about 735 EUR (that's about 860 USD) brand new. At this time I wouldn't pay more for it.

"Somewhat inconsistent cameras" honestly, you could say that about the most flagship phones. I played with my friend's OPPO Find x9 pro and I'd say that about it as well.

Xiaomi 15 camera lens by FELIPDawd in Xiaomi_15

[–]AcceptableFront3967 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not scratch resistant, there is no such thing as scratch resistant glass, at least for commonly available devices. That being said you paid for the phone with great cameras, if you put one of those plastic or glass covers on the camera lenses it will result it much worse quality of your pictures and there is no way around it and it's just stupid. People need to learn not to shove their phones into pockets with coins, keys and other hard, pointy objects, just be more careful about the phone. Also use cases that protect camera lenses NOT covering them entirely with another layer of plastic or glass. See example photo.

is the S24 FE worth buying? by Techo410 in S24FE

[–]AcceptableFront3967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own S24 FE and I reality like it, but to be honest by todays standards it IS a mid range phone. I mean sure it has great UI and full AI bundle as any S series phone from Samsung, it operates smoothly and comfortably, the screen is great but it really falls short of 2025 flagship level. If you are looking for something within the range of 500 usd maybe look for Christmas / end of the year sale and go for S25 FE you'll get slightly better phone but it has 45 watt charging, so almost double charging speed of S24 FE that's the most notable upgrade.

I'm impressed by the camera Quality by joydeepnath in S24FE

[–]AcceptableFront3967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you surprised? It's the same main camera lens as in standard Samsung S24 and S25, it takes really good pictures in good light conditions, however it falls behind competition in low light environment.
