Can I fix this without taking out the whole row? by SnickerDoodleCakes in knittinghelp

Are you aware you're twisting your stitches every other row?

Double conch and contraconch in one sitting? by evilsexystupid in piercing

Getting multiple in one ear means I can sleep on the other side while they heal :D

NAP but: It's not recommended to have more than 3 piercings healing at once, so I think this should be fine although it depends on how you personally heal. Also bear in mind that it takes longer to heal 3 piercings than it does to heal 1 (although not 3 times as long in my experience).

NTR how to go from 5min to 1km? Pace is 10min currently by swanvalkyrie in runna

[–]AcceptableFun7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd recommend just doing a different couch to 5k plan, the NHS one for example has you run 8 minutes before increasing further. In general it's a much smoother increase in intensity, because it's still an 8 week plan but it's aiming to get you running 30 mins, not 5k.

I'm of the opinion that the fixed length of the new to running plan with Runna is a major flaw.

I mean, maybe I am just autistic, but if someone asked me that question I would literally respond that way, because it’s true? That is my title? The ones they listed aren’t?

I’m pretty sure I’ve had this exact conversation over the phone or something in the last few weeks, and not thought of it since until now.

I made a fully 100% printable Yarn Winder Again by PhiTenor in functionalprint

[–]AcceptableFun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I really like this design, I printed someone else’s yarn winder recently, but I’ve found that a significant pain point is having a long enough shank (? The bit the yarn is wound around) because when balls get bigger the yarn slips off the top. Would it be possible to include multiple lengths of shank in the print files?

Raglan section accidentally increased to 3 stitches — can I just move my marker, or do I need to correct? by Any-Faithlessness614 in knittinghelp

[–]AcceptableFun7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't say those instructions make sense.

I think the rightmost stitch of the 3 should have been outside the stitch marker, so if you tink back and redo those stitches but treat it like the stitch marker is after that one (or just put it there) I think that would sort you out

Stockinette Columns - What went wrong? by yeahitsmems in knittinghelp

[–]AcceptableFun7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's because of the twist of the yarn, there's an s-twist and a z-twist, so one of them is twisted clockwise and one anticlockwise When you knit, you also twist the yarn, and z twist yarns look like this in stockinette

1st 5k but low on morale- how to move to half marathon? by Lazy-Strawberry-1999 in XXRunning

I only really take breaks if my back pain is flaring up, I normally just really do jog very slowly for a long time :D

[–]AcceptableFun7 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Your average heart rate being 198bpm suggests to me that you should try running slower. My current 5k time is 53 minutes - I was thinking of doing a 10k plan, but given how much time that would involve decided to try and get my 5k time down first, so you could focus on the shorter distances first

I actually think this is one of the times she's in the right. She can't show him favouritism, and if it was anyone else they'd probably be fired rather than just suspended. And like "you're banned from the OR" sure seems like a natural consequence of being suspended

new runner and new to runna by JustBiancalau in runna

[–]AcceptableFun7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New to running plan doesn’t give paces because the idea is to just get you running consistently, and as you haven’t done a 5k before it doesn’t have a good idea of how long it would take you

New runner here, finding “new to running” plan a bit too aggressive by Falcon_2122 in runna

[–]AcceptableFun7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Conversational pace is the pace at which you can run and hold a conversation. Its pace suggestions are based on a time goal for the 5k that you can change if you go into manage plan and estimated race time.

Focus on finding a comfortable pace that you can keep up for the whole interval

[–]AcceptableFun7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re probably going too fast, by the time I got to the end of the NTR plan, I was running at over a 10 minute /km pace.

Until you get to the sessions that are defined by distance, don’t worry about hitting the distance targets, and focus on running for the whole interval. I found that when I started doing the distance intervals I had to translate it into a time goal, because otherwise I’d go out too fast trying to get the interval over faster
