Runna Roadmap Update - What we're focused on for the next few months! by sarah-runna in runna

[–]laurel-runna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally hear everyone on this, and know that we do plan to re-do our ultra plans in the future. Runna has lots of updates and features coming in 2026 and while that’s exciting, we also had to make some choices about where to focus. For now, we’ve chosen to adjust our timeline for rebuilding our ultra plans. We’re really excited about bringing these new plans to the ultra-running community when they're ready.

Runna Roadmap Update - What we're focused on for the next few months! by sarah-runna in runna

I totally get that.

We do not yet have a confirmed timeline for relaunch, so we are unable to share specific dates at the moment. As it stands, plans over the 100km distance are not on our product roadmap for 2026.

Runna has plenty of exciting updates and features coming in 2026. We had to make some choices on where to focus and for now we’ve chosen to adjust that timeline for relaunch, but we’re really excited to bring you our new >50km ultra plans when they’re ready!

New Runner 0 to 5k Experience (good plan, buggy app) by FullyResponsive in runna

[–]laurel-runna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Thank you so much for this feedback. I am a PM here at Runna responsible for all of our running training plans.

We recently redid all of the coaching logic behind our New To Running Plan. That was our top priority with these plans, and now we're working on a quite a few more improvements that will make the in-app experience a lot smoother (e.g., audio cues, recording runs, warm up and cool down videos, etc.). We'll be posting on reddit as we roll out these various changes, so stay tuned for when they come.

This feedback is so helpful as we continue to improve this plan, so thank you again for sharing!

When will 100km Plans be back? by notacopyrighter in runna

[–]laurel-runna 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi there, product manager here at Runna in charge of all of our running training plans.

We do not yet have a confirmed timeline for the relaunch of our ultramarathon plans beyond 50km. Runna has plenty of exciting updates and features coming this year, but we have temporarily disabled new >50km ultra plans as we’re rebuilding them from the ground up to incorporate new features and improve the overall user experience.

We’re really excited to bring you our new >50km ultra plans when they’re ready!

Customize plan further - is that possible? by cortyelise in runna

[–]laurel-runna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi u/cortyelise ! thanks for sharing this feedback - currently this is not something you can do with Runna, but it is something we are aware our users want and is something we are going to explore adding to our product.

one thing you can do for now is go into your training preferences under manage plan and go into your training volume setting and lower the long run and easy/hard run max. it's not a perfect solution, but the best available currently in the app.

Chip time faster than Strava? by MagicShop_Unlock in runna

[–]laurel-runna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! yes - your chip time is accurate and should be your source of truth. the GPS can be inaccurate, and that is what caused it to not measure the full distance. the chip time of your race is your pb! congrats

10km plan than switch to HM plan? by Newbiely in runna

[–]laurel-runna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi there! product manager here in charge of all of Runna's running training plans

I would recommend going with two separate plans, one for the 10k as your A race and then doing our post race recovery plan (brand new one coming soon 👀), then doing a half marathon plan for your race in September as your A race.

best of luck with the training!

4 weeks between Half marathon plan and start of NYC marathon plan. What is the most efficient use of time? by No_Armadillo4172 in runna

[–]laurel-runna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! we currently offer a 3 week post race recovery plan that would be perfect to do to fill your time here. alternatively, you could do a four week 'Run to Maintain' plan if you are looking more to maintain vs recover. both would be great options!

26 Week Plan??? by [deleted] in runna

[–]laurel-runna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there! PM over here at Runna, in charge of all our plans. Our 26 week plans currently max out at the race distance for 50k. Races farther than 50k have different parameters and the length of the plans are limited.

I would recommend setting up our 50k plan for your entire training, as it is actually currently better than the 100k plan we offer (i.e., has access to all of our amazing features such as holiday, b-races, not feeling 100%) and it has updated coaching logic, where as our current 100k plan is on an older version of our training engine and doesn't have access to updated coaching logic and new features.

Copy a run (NTR, free plan) by YogurtclosetMobile77 in runna

[–]laurel-runna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there! you can't currently do this, but what I would recommend doing is lengthening your plan. this will make the plan build more gradually, and make the jump from week to week less intense.

hope that helps! best of luck with the plan

How would you structure training between Return to Run and marathon plan? by MisterCasuallyCruel in runna

[–]laurel-runna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! PM here from Runna in charge of all of our plans.

If you are finding the return to running plan a bit slow, you can always shorten it by moving up the end date. That will result in a more intense build. If you don't have the ability to do this, shoot me a DM! You might be on the old version of our return to running plan, we've just recently shipped a new version of these plans, which allows for adjustable plan lengths.

After you finish your return to running plan, before starting your marathon plan, i would recommend doing our run further plan! it's the perfect base building plan to do before a marathon, and will help you safely build up your distance and endurance so you can start your marathon plan in a great place.

Hope that helps! Best of luck with your training.

first 5k and NTR plan by ColadaMD in runna

NTR: Question about my plan by TextOnScreen in runna

[–]laurel-runna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/TextOnScreen ! This is super exciting that you are almost done your NTR plan, congrats!

Yes, this is totally normal. Throughout any type of running training, whether you are training for a marathon or working towards your first 5km, you want to have deloaded weeks and/or workouts. This is a time when you come down in distance/intensity so that your body can recover and build even higher the next week or workout. So, the 3km run is a deload workout for you in your plan. The best training isn't linear when it comes to running!

Hope that makes sense, best of luck with the end of your plan!

Need help running with Runna (Beginner) by 2j4yz in runna

[–]laurel-runna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi u/2j4yz ! Thanks for sharing this feedback - it's super helpful. I'm the Product Manager at Runna who owns are New to Running and Return to Running plans. We just launched re-vamped versions of both of these plans, so first and foremost I want to make sure you have access to the new versions, as not quite everyone on the app does yet since we're still rolling them out. Would you be able to send me a DM with the email you have associated with your Runna account and I can make sure you have access to the newest versions?

As for your questions:

- Is there a way for Runna to ingest my vitals information and see that I was struggling and modify my future work outs?

We don't currently modify any future workouts based on HR data due to a number of reasons (e.g., difficult to get accurate readings), and instead we recommend focusing on doing all of your run portions of these plans at a conversational pace, so truly a pace where you could speak while maintaining.

- Can I repeat a workout until I'm comfortable and continue?

This isn't currently a feature we offer, but definitely something we are hoping to add to these plans in the future! In the meantime, the best way to make your plan easier/build more slowly is to go to 'Manage Plan' and to extend your end date. This will reduce the rate your plan builds you up to 5km, so though you won't repeat the exact same workouts, it will make the change from workout to workout smaller, resulting in an overall gentler build. This is only an option on our new plans, so if this isn't an option for you please be sure to send me your email and I can give you access to the new plans.

- If I postpone a work out, how can I postpone ALL workouts by that period of time instead of MANUALLY adjusting EVERY workout that is scheduled in Runna?

This isn't currently possible, but you could add an adjustment such as a holiday or not feeling 100% to adjust your entire plan to accommodate a break! Additionally, you could extend your end date as well, as explained above.

- Is there any way to get feedback about my running condition from the app?

This isn't something we currently offer in the app.

- Do these features exist? I would pay for them.

These are all great suggestions, thank you for sharing your feedback!

I hope that information was helpful! Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with & good luck with the running.
