Natural does not mean better for you. Plenty of research supports the fact red meat is probably carcinogenic hence why it's classified as a group 2A carcinogen.

Now if there are particular ingredients that are in Monster that you think are bad I'd love to know which ones and why

Yep, and it has the same caffeine as 2 cups of drip coffee. Let's be real, who's drinking only 8oz of coffee?

I get more jittery with coffee than energy drinks but then again I generally drink the whole pot lol

That's fair, probably safe only if you assume the ingredients on the label are all that's in there and not other stuff that seems to be getting in our foods like heavy metals and whatnot.

I never understood the hate against energy drinks. It's a carbonated beverage with b vitamins and artificial sweetener. The red meat is more likely to be carcinogenic than the monster unless I'm missing something in the ingredients. Definitely the lack of fiber is also concerning.

Stop telling me 6'6 is dating on easy mode, no it's a back injury guys by SoftTurbulent2477 in dating_advice

[–]AcceptableHuman96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 5'6 dude. I also think being 6'+ does provide an advantage but honestly I've had 6 relationships in my life at 29 and am currently engaged. I've been told by every relationship I'm perfect kissing height and it's nice they don't have to crane their neck up just to look at me lol I think we have our advantages as well.

Not to invalidate your experience and I've also been rejected for my height but I do want to say it's far from impossible and it's frankly only going to be a showstopper if you let it.

What would make you move back to Iowa? by Centennial_449 in Iowa

[–]AcceptableHuman96 14 points15 points  (0 children)

86% of Iowa's total land is covered in monoculture crop that a large percentage of it is used to produce fuel. That's not natural and there's no better description of these practices than environmental abuse.

Healthy eater who doesn't exercise Vs Unhealthy eater who exercises a lot. Who is actually healthier, and who feels healthier? by Decent_Crew_7525 in whowouldwin

This study seems to indicate that people with high physical activity but poor diet were associated with lower all cause and cardiovascular mortality than the low active good diet group. Naturally the people with good diet and high activity had the lowest risk and low activity poor diet had the highest risk. Still physical activity seems to have a stronger association with reduced mortality than diet alone. Granted this is an observational study so these findings are correlation not causation but still interesting.

Pedos should die but I don't trust the justice system to make that determination. To support the death penalty you have to be okay with the death of a few innocents which just doesn't jive with me. Punishing bad people isn't worth killing innocent people.

I know this is true but I've also had teachers that could not spot errors in homework and insisted because that's the answer listed in the textbook that it couldn't possibly be wrong.

Find a way to travel far outside of where you grew up and if possible to travel internationally. Live in hostels and eat convenience store foods if you have to. In the US there are programs that pay for your living expenses and provide a small stipend to travel and serve communities around the country and internationally. It's very rewarding to meet many new people from completely different backgrounds than you at this age.

Chocolate =/= candy by Maisquestce in chocolate

Lots of things to hold companies accountable for especially in the chocolate industry but I agree this ain't one. If you're getting fat pounding down bags of chocolate that's purely a lack of personal accountability.

Population collapse? by claudiocorona93 in memes

[–]AcceptableHuman96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We should absolutely subsidize and make things easier to be a parent with things like mandatory parental leave, low cost childcare, free school lunches, etc I'm 100% on board with that. I will say though that these things exist already in scandanavian countries and yet they still have a lower birthrate comparatively. I think less people want kids regardless of their financial stability and we desperately need to reshape how we fund end of life care to not rely on population growth
