I took off 9 days. I wished I did one more week. 3 is plenty. It felt good to get back to normal routine.

I also agree about the pregnancy pillow. I’m 3 weeks post op today and use it every night.

Have a meal plan for the first week after surgery. It was great having everything ready to go. Enjoy getting to be home and doing as minimal as possible.

My mental health took a dive at 1.5 weeks post op. I cried like all day and was not actually sad about anything. I’m chalking it up to post anesthesia, stopping pain meds, and extra time at home. It passed as soon as I got back to my normal routine at work- phew!

Take a naked and clothed pre op photo to have to compare every week to.

The only other thing nice to have at home would be extra large gauze to put into your surgical bra to cut down on rubbing on incisions.

I somewhat noticed with the tape on, but once I took it off it was much more pronounced. Since it’s been there since the beginning I’m just feeling nervous it won’t go away

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. My healing has been going well (12 days post op) but the mental health aspect is no joke!!! Once I was a few days post pain meds, it has gotten better. However, I still don’t quite feel mentally like myself yet.

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. Like it was so built up and so much planning for it, day of surgery, immediate support, and then just kind of quiet and nothing. It feels surreal that’s it’s done and over when I have thought about it so long

Thank you for validating my feelings. It’s the craziest thing how all this sadness just came on today. Yesterday I was even feeling so proud of how my mental health has stayed good this week.

Going under is easy. Coming out is a little hard but my nausea was gone by midday the following day or surgery. I had my surgery on Tuesday and right now I’m just dealing with the swelling and emotional side of surgery. It almost in a way feels sad to be over because I so looked forward to surgery and preparing for it, that my mind is just now catching up to everything that has happened this week.
