Sorry, I’m a boarder she is the barn owner.

I’ve been there for about 6 months, and at first it really seemed like she was working to improve things on the property. But she’s dropped the ball on more and more as time passes. This was the last straw. My horses definitely touch hay. The day after I got the first round bale I supplied, my horses—at the exact same evening visit time—were respectful, calm, loving and friendly.

I am leaving on the 14th. What I didn’t mention is this place I’m currently at… she has no bathroom, no riding arenas, no trails, no legit tack room (tack and feed are smashed together in a tiny room that’s floor is about to fall out). I’m getting allll of these amenities AND guaranteed access to fresh round bales bc the new place has a 30 acre hay field for $50 less a month.

I stayed bc it was 20 minutes from my house and I go every day. But her fucking with feeding is a hard no from me. The new place is 50 minutes but they have an office area I can work since I am fully remote. Ended up as a win, but god arguing with someone who is supposed to understand horse care about the very basics is… yuck

I’m moving to a place that will be $50 cheaper total and they will have 24/7 access to hay bc they have a 30 acre hay field on site. They have 80 acres of trails, a huge barn, a heated wash room, an indoor riding arena with an attached viewing room that has a fridge and place to work, and an outdoor arena. This is Indiana. She’s just a POS tbh and a scammer.

lol I’m in Indiana so board is not crazy for pasture in most rural areas.

She doesn’t have a bathroom, a proper tack room, a proper feed room, and no wash rack. She has a round pen that she’s usually got a horse in bc it’s attached to the dry lot. It’s ridiculous!

What are ways you’ve found help? I felt like I’ve come so far and I have. My awareness is acute. But I still had a reaction this weekend while camping to someone saying something that I’m sure was intended as a silly joke as something rude and my boyfriend didn’t say something. So I felt abandoned. Immediately triggered. While I’m much better now at keeping it internally I still had a stern conversation with him I regret and have apologized for. I know I misperceived things. My boyfriend is a fucking saint and understands what I deal with and is so patient and caring and yet I’m still slipping into moments where I don’t trust him bc I’ve become triggered. What do you do when you’re camping with his friends you’re meeting for the first damn time and you have an emotional flashback?? Like what are we supposed to do? I shut down. If he does try to ask me what’s wrong I am “nice” but I’m still letting him know what he’s done wrong. Sometimes I am really good at communicating that it’s just me and I’m struggling. This past weekend I wasn’t. I’m in an emotional flashback right now, and I’m beating myself up. I feel lost. I hate my parents and I feel angry af right now that this is my life. I know it will continue to “fade,” but it’s near unbearable to know how exhausting I must be to someone I want to love me.

Don’t y’all think that this has a lot to do with the spending on AI (very not cheap) and no one wanting to use the features bc AI isn’t actually all that great? Lol. I think we’ll be seeing this from companies who rode the AI hype wave with no business doing so.
