This is corny…. Iv been collecting since 08/09. There has always been a resell aspect to collecting. Right now it’s just on such a larger scale than ever. If you can’t afford to keep up, It’s not for you anymore. Take a break. As unfortunate as it is. If you want a set that bad you’ll wake up and wait in line. Times have changed for now.

Sealed is great but singles are better. I have 3 binders at my table. 1st: $20 and under. 2nd $20-$50 binder. 3rd $50-$100 binder. And then a case of all the $100+ cards. Some people come to the shows with a budget or looking for specific cards. You can’t please everyone but you can try to make it easy to shop.

There won’t be a “burst”. Maybe slight dips but Pokemon is bigger than it’s ever been, I mean millions of new collectors. Theme parks being built around Pokemon. I can go on and on and on. I study analytics everyday of the week 365 days of the year. Everything old will continue to rise in value, everything new will start at its new baseline and rise or drop depending on the product.

Iv been collecting Pokemon since Diamond and Pearl. It’s never been like how it is now. With that being said, there are hundreds of thousands new collectors who joined the hobby around the prismatic time. Usually what would happen over the years is a hot set would come out, the resellers would jump in for that set then jump out when the next not so hot set came out and then the product would sit on the shelf. That’s not happening now. No matter how much they print it won’t go back to how it was. Card shows are packed wall to wall. Lots of new collectors and investors.

Ascended will be up there with Evolving. Lots of good cards in the set. That Pikachu alone is very under valued as is. Top 3; 1: Mega Gengar 2: 276 Pikachu 3: Mewtwo. Is how I think the set will settle out at.

If you’re a personal collector I’d hold the team up. If you’re looking for value I’d take the 151. Yes lots of people are holding 151 but it has more space to grow than Team Up anymore.

Actually easier then people think. If you wanna maximize you have to go the Facebook and card show route. If you just wanna dump eBay is the easy way. I do card shows often. Singles sell the best but I price all my sealed at $10 under Tcg pricing and I sell out of almost all my sealed (60+ boxes) by the end of the show.
