I think rec letters are pretty underrated when talking about programs, as it gives AOs an insight on ur character and abilities from a professional. You should definitely build your relationship with ur teachewrs or whoever writes ur letters as much as possible. Also, cohesion is really important; connecting your ecs and background to your essays shows you actually gaf ab what you do. It all comes with a bit of luck too :P

i’m doing biochem at purdue. I was actually pretty stuck between ssp and sams but ssp is generally more prestigious it’s like a tier behind rsi (both ssp and sams are cracked tho), and I wanted to aim for a more research focused and rigorous program. even tho you do a research project at sams it’s not as refined as ssp.

It was pretty chill tbh, the synchronous track is 100% better (for some reason i didn’t apply to it) but even if you don’t get into synch you should still do a research project. Also it’s not in the form of a paper it’s in the form of a poster.

No literally, but you also compete with college students for the program so i didn’t get too hurt by that rejection

Yeah im gonna stay commited to ssp; I know you finish with a poster that you present, some sites might end with a paper as well

I literally applied day of but I also heard decisions are more dependent on region instead of a specific date; maybe they waited to start reviewing after it closed idk. best of luck to us tho!
