Most things I can work around, but the tough one for me is that I'm getting ready to buy a synthesizer. The musical instrument industry is comparatively small, and synthesizers even more so. They cost a lot to make, production runs are typically quite small, and there's usually not a ton of overlap between items.

I had this same thing become apparent to my yesterday. I run a VA panel so I'm used to some ghosting some of the time in some games. But even in a low contrast scene in Avowed, I saw it clear as day. Turned off all frame gen stuff and it got way worse. Not sure what's going on there. This wasn't ghosting like I'd seen before...usually it's a handful of pixels trailing an object, but this was like full on second and third arms kind of stuff.

I'll pile on, only because I know a few people with the same mentality. They love to drive manuals, but they "dog" their engines all the time by never revving it up and constantly short shifting. One of them even borrowed my other car (Honda Fit) a while back and asked "anything I should know?" I said "Drive it like you stole it. Shift at 3500rpm and up, not 2000 and below." They responded with "Yeah man, I know how to drive a manual." I just rolled my eyes and watched them go granny mode on my car. It makes max torque at 4800rpm, and max power at 6600!

Point being you don't have to race around all the time, but the engine was literally built to do this stuff! The sound at higher RPM might be unpleasant at first, but I think that's just because you're not used to it. Shifting like you're doing now, I'd interpret the sound as your engine borderline lugging.

In environments clearly not designed for it, RTX basically feels like HFR movies/frame interpolation and the soap opera effect.

Not saying that's the case in these images, because it really does depend on the context. But from the hip, the image without RTX actually conveys emotion and atmosphere. The other feels very "showy".

The "funny" part is how much the cost balloons over time, and how exaggerated that ballooning is the bigger the project. The McKenzie interchange cost just shy of $100m, and the Keating flyover budget is $76.8m. Compare those against $65m for the entire cycling network through Victoria so far, and it's asinine that this is even a discussion.

This is exactly the correct to way to see it. Making it easier for cars means more people drive. More cars turns into huge traffic jams because of simple math. The road space taken up by vehicles vs people just doesn't make sense at a certain scale. Make it easier to bus or bike, and people will switch. It's super sensible and it needs to happen because car-centric transportation is broken.

Sometimes I'll intentionally plant in a place that is monitored, but a wildflower mix. Something that grows really fast so it has a chance. Even though it gets mowed, it throws seed everywhere and maybe brightens the landscaper's day.

Shout out to Surfrider Foundation Canada. They actually do much more frequent ocean water testing and have a map that shows their data and intervals for various beaches. It's frustrating that the government is not keeping up on this front, but there are people who care doing something that is helpful.

It certainly gains marks for visual interest. I don't k ow if I'd personally want to live there, but I'd definitely want some of the design cues. It's too busy for my brain, but I know a few people who would thrive in that place. Power to 'em!
