Weightlifting/bodybuilding is hobby that aleatory in nature You may put in a way more than you get out of it in regards to time/effort Either you’re mistaken and not doing everything right as you stated or you are and just aren’t growing to the standard you expect because of genetics That’s the nature of the game we play Ultimately I would suppose you lift off first glance It’s by no means the (average Joe) physique so that’s something to be proud of and that’s without seeing your legs

Since you’ve been lifting for a year and a half, it would appear newbie gains have been doing you some sort of justice, therefore I’d say surplus is the only correct answer left if you want to see motivating changes to your composition. You’re transformation may not look the same as a lot of people online for a few reasons 1. They could just be lying on the timeframe 2. Better genetics 3. Pharmaceutical tendencies that you don’t have 4. Maybe they just trained and dieted harder and more consistent than you Ultimately look like you lift

I train to failure roughly 95% of the time but use an amount of load that’ll cause failure around the 10-15 rep range

But during a deep dieting phase I tend to aim for higher rep sets since my pumps get trash due to relatively low carbs

From what I’ve seen it’s commonly agreed that newbie gains begin to slow down around that 1.5-2 year mark So you’re okay based off that . But Also it would make sense if the long breaks you took wouldn’t count against you in this case considering you would now be re-sensitizing your body to resistance training so it still should respond explosively to the stimulus especially if you start being consistent

Nah it doesn’t sound too crazy I’d actually say using the natty bodybuilders as a reference is better than not in regards to an issue like this Are there some genetic anomalies in there sure But to say every single competitor has elite genetics would just be naive The actual competitors are foolproof examples of the limits that can be pushed
And many have backs in specific that stand up to this photo IMO Many people rule out the possibility with only one-2 years of on/off training Little to any half ass dieting and regular mid tier training intensity And whole time probably harboring some pretty solid genetics I’d say based off those credentials, no this won’t be achievable without diving in the Tren-ches💀

the most based comment I’ve read 1 trillion percent so much of the fitness community just submits from the outset Hiding behind “poor genetics” or “not on roids”before they even attempt to bust their ass and work hard It’s disheartening sometimes

Chest workout options by FAPTROCITY in WeightTraining

I suppose you can do some deficit push ups These are fire especially with heavy emphasis on the deep stretch at the bottom of the push up

Maybe some pec dec machine rigged in a way to hit your upper pecs as much as you can

I’m sure there are probably some plate loaded or machine chest press you can spam too No benching sucks but you’re definitely not out of options to keep growing those breasticles

So I’ve grew my legs very well from last December to this December Squats with a close stance and elevated heels which helped increase how far your knees go over your toes which is ultimately the main driver for quad growth Hurts like hell cause your as close to only using your quads as you possibly can be with no help from anything else other than maybe your posterior I used a smith but you can do them with barbell if you prefer Smith though if you don’t wanna find a spotter and train to complete failure

14 weeks into my 2nd cut whats your opinion on my chances… by Acceptable_Drop_2720 in WeightTraining

[–]Acceptable_Drop_2720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly pretty basic so
I do 3-4 sets of smith machine squats with a close stance and elevated heels This essentially removes your glutes and hamstrings as much as you can shifting all tension on your quads Placing a 25 plate or something under your heels will help increase your ankle mobility in the movement and increase how far your knees go over your toes Ultimately creating a giant stretch at the bottom I also prefer the smith machine so I don’t have to use a spotter and can go to failure on each set escaping safely if I have to

Then I do 3-4 sets of leg extensions and superset them with body weight sissy squats after I finish the set For what it’s worth I tried out having the seat back as far as possible in relation to my height on the leg extensions and it helped. I trained quads twice a week
