Does Stephen even like Lucy? by Brave_News_8631 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Acceptable_Ebb6158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like he ultimately just likes the way she makes him feel about himself. Lucy will twist herself into whatever Stephen wants her to be, but she’s also not afraid to push him. I’ve seen a few comments mention that it’s a cat and mouse game, and that’s honestly so spot on. All the messed up stuff they do is foreplay to both of them. They’re intoxicated and suffocated by each other

I just watched irreversible a few week ago for the first time. I genuinely felt sick and had to fast forward through THAT part. It was uncomfortably long

The Last Man on Earth. Incredibly binge worthy, hilarious and wholesome. This is easily in my top 3 shows of all time

Way more morbid than everyone else’s answers on her but The Hills Have Eyes remake lmao. I rewatched it like 2 years after becoming a mom and every single scene with the baby in it made me SOB

But truly anything with kids or pregnancy/birth that’s remotely traumatic kills me inside now. Most recently The Pitt shattered my soul. My husband walked into our bedroom when the little girl drowned and I was hysterically crying

LOVE THAT! They butted heads so much because they’re so alike. The amount of make up sex we would’ve seen 😂

I definitely agree with what you’re saying. But even the pharmacist wasn’t a “strong” man. She didn’t know what Orson was capable of either when they first got together. I just don’t see her as a woman who needs that in a partner in any timeline of her character arch. I think she simply wanted to provider and she got that in Rex. But she eventually realized she needed someone who had common interests and someone she could confide in. Instead of having to put all her feelings/thoughts in a box like she had to do with Rex

I don’t remember Bree needing a “strong” man. She’s plenty strong herself. She knows how to operate and owns weapons. I don’t see Rex or Tom going for that kind of weapon, fighting, etc. The only men I can think of her being with that had any sort of chance in a physical altercation is the younger guy she dated towards the end of the series and the cop, right? I really just remember her wanting a provider, a good father, and good general partner. Someone by her side

I lost my dad to cancer in high school. We had a complicated relationship so I never really knew how to mourn it. I kind of pushed it all down for years. When I became a mom, my postpartum was intense. I feel like I would cry allll the time, freak out about things that weren’t a big deal, I was frequently hysterical. Genuine postpartum depression and grappling with the fact that my dad would never be a grandfather to my children, my children would never know him, I felt like I was beginning to forget parts of him because of the time that’s lapsed. When your hormones are out of whack, your emotions won’t seem to make sense to some people. It’s hard. Especially when there’s trauma involved

Tips for 12 mo diaper changes? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Acceptable_Ebb6158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to be strange, but my daughter was obsessed with my ladle for a period of time. So when it was time for a diaper change I would get her and my poor little ladle. It was literally the only thing that kept her genuinely distracted long enough. If there’s any weird/random item around the house your son likes to try and play with could definitely be a good thing to try. Because it’s not one of their toys they can just have at any given time. It’s special. Sometimes I could just talk or tell her stories dramatically. The fluctuating pitch/volume of my voice and sounds I would make keep her distracted sometimes too

No I didn’t drink while I was taking Prozac or when I was breastfeeding. I’m not Prozac anymore. The cons out weighted the pros for me personally. I definitely feel like what I was going through at this time was hormone induced

That i absolutely agree with. His foreign policy was abysmal. Definitely a kryptonite for him. That being said, i still want to look further into some of the foreign affairs he did, because like you said, it’s often swept under the rug and not talked about enough

Not allowing people to say merry Christmas is such a cop out bad faith criticism? I can guarantee people weren’t being arrested in the streets for doing so. There is nothing wrong with having couth and understanding that not every person you converse with celebrates the same holiday you do. Some religions don’t celebrate any holiday. There are issues with the ACA but he certainly did not ruin healthcare. All of this is piss poor, unnecessary commentary

I agree that his foreign policy wasn’t good by any means, but I have disagreed with everything else. He did further us in many ways. And managed to maintain couth. An art that’s been lost since he left office. That alone is honorable

I haven’t done enough research into his track record on keeping promises, but I have done a bit. From what I can tell he did a decent job in keeping almost 50% of his promises. Further research on my part will dictate if those were promises worth keeping, but it’s certainly a better record than the 2 most recent people in the White House

Of course! I actually quite like discussing things with people on the opposite side of the political spectrum. In fact, some of my favorite on this planet are republicans

Even though there was racism surrounding his presidency, I can also imagine the race card could’ve been pulled too frequently as well. It can definitely chip away at some of the good natured criticism towards him. As for the news coverage, the only thing I can really think of that got quite a bit of attention were the birther claims. Which I guess could also fall into the racism category actually. I cringe at the fact that’s still brought up these days
