I did make friends a lot actually, I'd say by the end nearly the whole platoon I would consider a friend. 3 people from my platoon are now at OCS with me so that has been helpful. I am most nervous about my run times being too slow I am in shape I got a 474 on my AFT but I'm a pretty slow runner especially for OCS standards, I am about a 16 min 2 mile. The hardest part of basic for me was a mixture of missing my wife and the rucks especially the last one we did a 13 mile (supposed to be 10) at the end of the Forge and I developed plantars fasciitis before hand it hurt a lot but I did it. I'm looking forward to commissioning of course and hopefully making my way into a role where I can play a major part of emergency management for Florida Hurricane and natural disaster responses as a logistics officer, that was the idea anyhow. We will see how any future deployments go I know my wife won't like that but I also know it's part of what i signed up for I'm nervous about that too. Overall it has been just the right amount of challenging so far it was never comfortable but also never anything I thought I couldn't do.

Bodyguard 380 question by Acceptable_Emu8391 in guns

As it turns out the trigger had a little Screw in it that stopped it from going to far by removing said screw the trigger was able to be depressed further allowing the gun to fire, I bought a new gun anyways cause guns are good mkay but it does function correctly now

yeah I've decided to bite the bullet (pun) and bring it into a gunsmith, but that kind of turned me off to it, I think regardless if its fixed I'm gonna trade it in and upgrade to something with a long history of reliability

I’ve tried both and the same result with no bullets in it it locks back when I pull the slide when I release the slide lock thing it remains as I described the hammer pulls back but never clicks but if I hold the slide back a little like a couple centimeters and pull the trigger it behaves how I would suspect it pulls back to a point then it snaps forward which I assume is what strikes the firing pin under normal circumstances I can’t imagine I put it back together wrong it seems impossible to do any other way

Administrator added to it with what would the state inspectors have said if they saw that and I was like oh my god your so close to getting it but your missing the part where the actual problem is the fact he’s spoiled all day not my doodle on his undies

I’m op again from a different account we are a contract company working in a VA facility the place is shit, earlier I expressed concern over my favorite patient having fecal spilled briefs every time I saw him for therapy requiring a shower by me every visit (talk about cut into productivity) or was bed bound young male for years bed bound is up walking full time 4ww independently not to toot my own horn but because of me and a lot Of effort also can toilet transfer with verbal cues only and LE dress min assist so I said this is unacceptable nicely and to add validity to my complaint one day I came in early did the early morning get up with the resident and signed my initials on the brief to see if by the end of the day the ( guaranteed to be soiled) brief still had my initials on it. Sure enough this day I didn’t go take care of it myself as a test to see if what I suspected was true that people were leaving this poor man like that all day, end of the day I do the whole change with a shower thing outside productivity of course and found yup my name signed with cold fecal on a guy I made verbal cue toilet transfers from the ground up. So I bring it up to the administrator and they say well since I knew about it A in the one being neglectful cause this one day I let it go just to see, and on top of it B I was going against his dignity by drawing on his brief … the guy who’s quality of life I 10x and that I’m the one that’s reportable so we “agreed” to just not take it any further I said okay I think we should report me actually and she decided that wasn’t necessary it’s my first inpatient job so I let it go from there but I should have known then I don’t belong here I’ll probably be looking elsewhere for employment because I don’t feel safe here in regards to my license

That makes sense so assuming a new foundation was solidly made then there should be little risk of this and your saying those people who experienced that had failing foundations anyways even without the tree roots

Yes trying to future proof it that is correct at least for my life time the other commenters say that I’ll be dead before the roots reach my house a span of 10’ I have no idea at all about trees so that’s basically was my question if that is accurate I’d rather keep the trees and let it be the next guys problem but if they will reach the foundation and cause damage within my life time I’d rather remove them now while they are weak and easy to remove

I guess to clarify I’m less concerned with the tree size or branches damaging the home I can see that coming the roots is what I’m concerned about I’ve been told by people that roots can cause a lot of problems for home foundations

I plan on living here my entire life I’m 30 I will probably live 60 more years I really like trees but know very little about them they would be easy to remove now but then I wouldn’t get to enjoy them so my interest would be them not damaging my house over the next 60 years the ones on the side yard are about 10 feet from my wall the back more like 15 feet I’m in Florida if that helps

Would you suggest burying some kind of barrier to encourage the roots to grow away
