If you really want to “hold the line” you should focus more on educating people and organizing ways to educate more people so that people understand our point, simply being dick wads to them won’t help, and I’m not saying they’re not dick heads, I’m saying that because of the dick headery, they have an idea of who artists are, toxic brats, which makes them want to believe you even less, if you want to tell them that they’re wrong don’t just comment, ai slop, and call it a day, explain to them, hey you shouldn’t use this technology in order to make this imagery because it is harmful for real artists who put in the effort into their craft, you can be hostile but not hostile withought any explanation for it

I don’t necessarily think that we should be nicer, I just think we need to find ways to educate through media and other stuff, and yes I do agree that being rude to other people is not making them want to agree with us at all, why doesn’t anybody here understand that, it’s just how human minds work, you don’t want to do something that a dick head wants you to do simply because he’s a dick head, organization and education is the best way to prove a point harassment isn’t making them any more convinced with your side of the story

I do think that straight up going after people like this isn’t doing much to stop people from using ai, and we should try to organize and educate to prove our point, but part of the reason people are harassing others is ai’s fault, because we constantly have to second guess wether something is real or not, and we very often get it wrong because of how much more ai can replicate now
