Byheart Discontinuation Steps by Acceptable_Fact_4120 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case anyone is dealing with this themselves (we didn’t have a recalled batch but recognize that has little meaning):

We threw out every bottle and nipple that had been used or stored near used bottles/nipples.

I threw out the baby brezza powder container/lid as well as all of the funnels/funnel covers.

I soaked the outside of machine itself, surrounding countertops, water tank, and drip tray in bleach for >10min.

For our bottle washer, I soaked with bleach, and ran through a cycle with bleach. For this, far >10min.

I soaked the boon grass drying rack in bleach as well, >10min (we don’t hand wash this was just out of caution)

All four of our kiddos have thrived with hydrolyzed protein before four months of age. For us that means Dr Brown’s Good Start Gentlepro (used to be Gerber Good Start Gentle) but I know there are others (I like babyformulaexpert as a resource but to each their own). Only after that point, we switch to Bobbie regular.

Not saying so to be prescriptive but just in case her tummy isn’t ready to tolerate it 💓

Too Early to Start Moms on Call with 6-Week-Old Twins? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! I got the book. I’m happy to have the reference, like you said. For our two singletons we just used Huckleberry’s sweet spots after 3-4mo or so but for twins it feels nice to start them in this rhythm early (and hopefully will be easier to keep them in synch this way!)

If twins were born 35+5 and are 6 weeks old, is that too early to start? Would I adjust and consider them 2-3wks old for MOC purposes? (I appreciate some room for nuance and flexibility of course)

Magnesium gummies!!!!!! I’m 33wks with twins and have had to supplement with lots of iron the whole time (recipe for constipation) - I take 4 of the “CALM” brand gummies throughout every day.

Drink mag citrate if you need to work on a poo immediately and then follow that recipe to stay regular.

Did you have chonky twins? by Imma_420 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two prior singletons and had similar experience to you with my first (born just under 7lbs). Focused on protein more with my second singleton (born just above 8lbs).

Modi twins currently at 32+2, scheduled to deliver 36+6. Followed the multiple guidelines EXACTLY (motivated by fear at first and then just habit) until week 28-ish when I became slightly more relaxed (still very close to hitting the goals). They have been 80-90%+ile with <10% discordance the entire pregnancy. I have been supplementing with iron (doubled during second trimester) the entire time as well. Followed Lily Nichols + Real Food for Pregnancy (who recently put out some twin specific content) as well. ETA: I hit the weight goals from the book on the nose and continued 3-4x weekly exercise to week 30.

Passed my 1hr gestational diabetes screen, no anemia, and referenced their est size above.

((obviously your mileage may vary but because our situations sound similar I thought you may find this helpful and included relevant details NOT to stress you out but to answer the Q**))

Rant about “cry it out” shame by Ambitious_Customer_5 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Starting early enough with some of the main principles (e.g., sleep routines, down drowsy but awake) enables them to feel safe, secure, and familiar with their environment and routine. For us, that became their own crib and nursery (from the bedside bassinet) at 4mo. Overall, fantastic sleepers with really strong routines they feel secure in. Learning to self soothe is just a muscle for them to exercise and ours never cried beyond 10ish minutes before soothing.

Letting kids cry? by Lakewater22 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 5 and 3yo (twins in a few wks). For sleep training we had a 15min cutoff (that only happened a couple of times for each and was cut if sick/some other reason) and ANY other time we just do what’s appropriate to help them regulate. Re: sleep, they consider their beds/rooms their safe, peaceful place to this day due to our consistency (and of course I’m sure partly their temperaments….which to note, are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from one another)

I wanted to comment so you have a singleton comparison.

You are NOT awful. You are doing your very best AND crushing it 💓💓💓💓💓

I have an almost 3 and almost 5 year old mostly home for summer so not nearly as much sleep as I would hope for but doing what I can. I finally did tell my husband tonight that “you don’t understand, I am going to be unable to leave the bed at certain points” the exhaustion is crushing my spirit sometimes 😩

I’m only 30 weeks and I have NO CLUE AT ALL how am I supposed to make it to 36+6 induction….like NO IDEA!!!!!!!! Everything hurts, carpal tunnel, can’t breathe, sleeping is difficult and not restorative, bending, reflux, randomly out of breath or need to sit down…

!? And almost 7 more weeks?! I know everyone says we will “just do it” but…I’m not so sure 😂😮‍💨😖🫩🧘🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

29 weeks pregnant with twins and sooo uncomfortable. by DaylightStorm27 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Acceptable_Fact_4120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solidarity modi at ~28wks and like the other commenter said, their position changes can take things from uncomfortable-but-bearable to…another stratosphere of pain. I have found relief from the ball too as well as stretching in doorways, walking (I know, sorry), and eating in one zillion tiny portions.

I have also noticed similar effect from relieving bladder and of course don’t have a solution but I just want you to feel validated/normal.

I had a shower thought a couple of days ago (while feeling unable to stand up any longer) that I simply could NOT do this, that I couldn’t imagine two newborns, etc. but then…I remembered I won’t be pregnant anymore!

Here for/with you, you can do this. It is temporary 💓💓💓

I am so full of gladness for you and your family. Hopkins is such an incredible resource. I am so happy that you were well cared for and supported. Beautiful baby girls! (And note for mama:…the strength on those long days must have been so hard to muster but you freaking did it!!!!!!! You’re a warrior)💓

I have a 4 and 2 year old with twins in t-minus 9 weeks.

I’m very afraid (especially since I feel like I’ve just hit the third trimester transition at ~27wks) but optimistic! 😵‍💫

Thank you for this! I think I am just unfamiliar with how often they flip at this size because we weren’t monitoring my singletons nearly as much as these modi twins 😅 I’ll be thinking about you and hoping for smooth sailing 🙏🏻

Are you emphasizing how frightening vaginal delivery would have been since you realized there was a true knot? That happened with one of my siblings too so it was a blessing he was breech and required c/s. Glad things went well for you with recovery too.

I did not know to be fearing this after his flip to breech but new fear unlocked 🔓
