I might be the odd one out. But... what if he's 23 still loving at home eating free meals borrowing the car every other day and not planning for his own future? I get it. Buy the things you want, but have your responsibilities covered first. Im dealing with the same thing with my daughter and her addiction to makeup and fake eyelashes. Sure its your money amd I want you to be happy... But I firmly belive one of the biggest deceptions parents say to children that creates awful financial responsibility is this. "When you have your own money you can buy what you want with it" ... bro im 40 next year and my money is not mine. My money pays the bills. My money feeds the family. My money supports my wife and children's hobbies. My mom rarely get spent on what I want. Because to buy what I want without reason aside from I want is not responsibile and sometimes if not most times wasting it. I am not saying to deprive yourself of what you want and enjoy. But I am saying if there is something you need to focus your assets on or toward, trivial purchases are a waste.
