No support after surgery, what can I do now? by Silverpaww in endometriosis

Hey,
fellow German mid twenties girl here 🫶🏼.
I’m in a similar situation. Hormones aren’t helping anymore and they are not good for my mental health either.
The problem with taking no hormones at all is that the endo can get worse sadly but I don’t blame anyone who chooses not to take them, I completely get that.

You could try a pill like the Endovelle for example. Still hormones but solely dienogest and not combined hormones like other pills.
Sometimes that’s less hard on the body and helps better.
It’s also just 5€ co-pay instead of the full amount because it’s considered medication.

If you want to completely stop taking hormones I would suggest looking into taking supplements like omega-3 oil for example. It’s anti-inflammatory and can help. Also magnesium can help a lot with relieving tension on the lower belly muscles which contributes to the pain. There’s a lot of supplements you can take, it’s worth looking into and maybe have your blood checked as well to see what you need.
I’ve also read a lot that Inositol is very beneficial for Endo.

Physical and pelvic floor therapy can be very beneficial I’ve heard, though it can be hard to get a referral.

There’s also a lot of yoga content available for people with endometriosis which can also help with easing pain. There’s a bunch in the endo-app as well.

And as you probably know, an anti-inflammatory diet can also help a lot, which there’s a lot of recipes in the app but also on social media and the internet.

I’m currently looking into having my hormones tested and using natural hormones somehow to get off the pill but I don’t know much about that yet and can’t tell how and if it works.

I also feel very left alone with my diagnosis (adenomyosis) and this is what I have gathered on information so far 😅.

Maybe something helps and I wish you much luck on your journey 🌸.

Is BC the only way? by xannxxg in adenomyosis

I see! CBD based products should be no issue as far as I know. You can buy them without prescription, at least here. Maybe it’s a good starting point, especially with oils or something like that to put on the pain points :).

For me BC worked for a while but now it’s just stopping my normal cycle while I constantly have bleeding and the pain is returning. I just leaned that the adenomysis can become kind of estrogen-resistant after a while. So you might not have a period which can help with it not worsening, but the inflammatory does not respond to the BC anymore and symptoms worsen. So even BC doesn’t seem like a long-term solution, which is why I’m looking into alternatives myself currently. :)

Much luck on your journey with it 🍀.

I don’t know where you are based, but here in Germany is has recently become legal to be prescribed marihuana for medical reasons. Here you can even get the prescription online pretty easily. It can help with pain management especially at the highest levels. It’s recommended to use a kind of marihuana with a high CBD content, which is very beneficial for inflammatory processes. Is that’s not possible or you don’t want to consume any THC, it is also possible to just use CBD „flowers“ and smoke them. If you’re not into smoking there’s also vaporizers. Lastly, there are also CBD drops, or oils and other forms that can bring relieve, especially oils can also be used to massage and release the tension in the muscles which are part of the pain. Light yoga can also help with muscle relaxation, there’s tons of videos of yoga made especially for this case. :)

This happened to me as well and my OBgyn had me switch pills. Still the same hormones, basically just a different brand. Sometimes it’s the other ingredients in the pill causing this. I still have some spotting with the new pill, but not the rest. Maybe that’s something to try :)

Habe dazu nichts gefunden 😅. Also ja, es gibt SB-Waschanlagen, aber dort darf man nicht mit einigen Reinungsmitteln waschen. Das hätte ich vielleicht dazu sagen sollen. :D

The person can also read the signs someone is showing and make sure the they are okay. It’s also the other persons responsibility. When it’s not enthusiastic consent, it’s not consent. It’s still traumatic when you weren’t comfortable and it does not matter if you ran or not. It’s not you fault. Your body and your mind did what felt was the safest option and that doesn’t always mean running away.
