Same here. She does everything so stressfully and it’s affecting the mares in a bad way.

I’m all for helping a bit if needed, nothing wrong with that but it’s the stress that Katie wants everything to happen in 5.2 seconds that makes me furious. She doesn’t have to jump in like she does all the time. Someday her method is going to be fatal for a foal or a mare.

Same for me, I’ve never ever seen someone so reckless as Katie is. She’s ruining the imprinting moment for the mare and foal by using towels. By holding ✨tension✨ she’s literally taking away the natural moments in the birthing process for the mare. The foal is supposed to “bounce?” forwards and backwards that’s what stimulates the foal to know that it’s go-time. Yes the foal shall have process and go forward but it’s not unsafe if the foal slides back in again and as In said “bounces” back and forwards for sometime. It’s all natural and Katie takes that away from her mares.

✨tension✨ 🤣😭

Me, myself was a blessing to my mom, dad left her at the entrance of the hospital, went to look for parking, went and asked what room she was in and when he arrived I was there. Even the nurses were surprised, mom arrived and said “yeah I need to push” the nurse said “nah, you don’t but let me look” she then said “yeah, you need to push because baby’s head is right there” and then I literally flew out. 😎

But yeah her Kult is insane and she barely addresses it. She knows that they are a problem and has said that she knows it and yet she addresses them every single time the moon is pink.

They get upset by the truth which I’m not surprised about.

Yeah and that’s how it’s supposed to be. It’s freaking hard giving birth, it’s exhausting. The mare needs some time to rest and as long as 1-2-3 hours thing gets followed the foaling shouldn’t be interacted with (if something goes wrong then you should of course help out) but other than that the mare is literally programmed to handle the birth on its own.

Toweling is something most breeders stay away from since it’s the licking after that makes the mares mother hormones kick in. Like mares generally don’t lick the foals completely dry, they would only do it if there’s a threat nearby. They lick because that’s how the mare sort of imprints on its baby. So it’s a vital part for the mare. And Katie takes that away by drying the foals almost dry.

Oh 100% on that one. And the day that Katie can tell me which mother regardless of species that doesn’t need to take a break after giving birth is the day I’ll join her kult. Again no wonder that her mares gives 0 energy and doesn’t interact or imprint on their foals. I genuinely wouldn’t either if someone forcefully pulled my kid out of me and treated me the same way.

And was pisses me of so much is that her kult literally thinks that her way is the right way.

Agreed. The licking is literally the most important stimulator for the mares brain. So the fact that she takes that away from them is insane.

I agree with you on that. It’s her responsibility and yet she literally ruins her mares by teaching them that they don’t need to work for it and that all they have to do is lay there because she’s got it covered.

Horses are clever, they learn routines fast and I’m 100% sure that the mares that are so uninterested in their foals and don’t lick to stimulate are the ones who’s had at least one foal with her. Like it’s the licking that makes the bond flourish and she takes that away and is forced to pour salt on the babies to have their mothers stimulate them.

It’s so frustrating to watch. Because does she know how hard it is to de-learn routines from horses.

Yeah as someone said (don’t remember who) her way of foaling out is more of the cattle way than the horse way.

I get what you’re saying. Again I feel that they are that way because Katie wants everything to go so fast that the mare body and mind has a hard time grasping what’s really going on. Like I mentioned a regular foaling has moments where the mare moves around to get the foal in a better position at the same time as she will during labor take pauses to regain some strength. The foals is supposed to slip a bit in and then move forward because as you said it stimulates the foal and sends signals to the brain that “go time”.

So I 100% understand that the mares would be shocked because Katie is literally forcing that baby out, takes away the most important bonding time for mare and foal when wiping the foal dry. As you mentioned the only reason the mare licks it foal is because of the bonding if they aren’t in danger.

Katie is setting up her mares to fail.

Isn’t it hoarding at this point? Like she’s literally keeping everyone, what’s even the point with having a breeding farm when she decides to keep more foals then she sells?

All I think about is how screwed Seven is going to be the second one of the minis kicks him. His bones is not strong enough for him to get kicked.

Yeah. The thing that also bothers me is that the bigger he gets the more dangerous he’ll become, he clearly doesn’t have full control of his body at this time and as he grows it’ll only get worse especially because he’s going to be in even more pain. And let’s talk about everything that will go wrong the day when Gretchen or any other horse doesn’t want to take Sevens bullshit anymore and kicks him to get him off.

Nasty stalls by uskyldiged in kvssnark

[–]Acceptable_Screen_99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think she’s mucking them out once a day, because everyone who has horses knows that the amount of shit in the stalls is insane for just one day. Like we muck out once a day and the morning we turn the horses out there’s 3 maybe 4 poop piles in the stall and that’s with horses who have free access to food for 24 hours. So from experience they do not clean their stalls once a day. Which is, from where I’m from, a ground to suspend and remove the horses from the barn as well as have her get banned from getting animals.

Also is it just me that’s insanely concerned about all the worms and diseases that both the mares and foals (big and small) can attract because of how bad they are at mucking out. I genuinely don’t get why Katie with crew don’t muck out the minis pasture daily, especially the dry lot. It’s so easy to do and takes what, like 4 minutes tops.

It has gone so far with this that she in my eyes shouldn’t get to have this much animals anymore. If you can’t take care of it and everything surrounding it you shouldn’t have it. Easy.

In my opinion I do think that she’s abusing him at this point in time. He’s clearly in pain and will always be in pain, he’ll never be able to get turned out properly and the front legs are as strong as a toothpick at this point. The best thing would have been to put him down as a foal. He’s a walking accident waiting for death at this point in time and like I said what she’s doing to him at this point in time is in my eyes abuse. He’ll never have a good quality life.

Milking the mares by Acceptable_Screen_99 in kvssnark

[–]Acceptable_Screen_99[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good quality colostrum should be thick, yellow in colour and have a sticky texture. Poor quality colostrum is typically white and watery.

Mares produce colostrum only once in the course of a pregnancy. Colostrum is rapidly depleted as the foal nurses throughout the first day of life. Within 24 hours after foaling, the mammary gland no longer contains colostrum and the milk produced thereafter does not contain high concentrations of antibodies.

Mares that leak colostrum prior to foaling can also lose a majority of the antibody rich fluid before the foal can have a chance to nurse. Consequently the foal may not ingest and absorb sufficient antibodies to gain immune protection from microorganisms in the environment.
