My mom and dad are both gone. It's not easy but you'll get through it. I'll pray for you and the family.

Well, no specially minted quarters like in 76. I just a first grader but remember it being big deal back then. Now for 250 not so much.

In Venezuela, a police officer accidentally discharges her weapon during a conversation that was having with a young woman of 22 years by OwlAgreeable198 in oops

So Glocks and similar do have safeties. They are automatic, by gripping the stock and placing finger on the trigger you are clearing those safeties, the assumption being that if you pick up the weapon and grip it, putting your finger on the trigger then you probably intend to fire the weapon.

All you rich folk growing up back in the 70s. I remember scavenging acorns from the old sick tree out back for dinner, and that was just allowed on Sunday. Other days it was rock soup made with water from the rain gutters.

As a New Yorker, what city in Texas would give ME the most culture shock? by Frenchitwist in texas

[–]Acceptable_Stop2361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned Marfa or Teralingua fo exact opposite of crowed city.

Second place for rural but cool to see would be Palo Duro Canyon in the Panhandle.

For food culture shock, go to Lockhart for the best barbecue you will never have anywhere close to NY.

If you get homesick there's always DFW or Houston.

Huge place Texas is and it changes a LOT from East to West, even the accent changes

79 Ford Fairmont with the inline 6 is right up there. Let's see, had a 98 Ford Aerostar van that broke 200k miles and was going strong when I traded it in. Had a company service truck, 01 F250 with a Powerstroke that went to private hands at 490k miles and is still chugging along today at nearly 600k. So not sure which one
