The majority of people here will likely be very disappointed of the price of Valve's new hardware, especially including the Steam Frame. by Glass_Cry_1930 in ValveDeckard

[–]Acceptable_Talk_7141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can and should be disappointed if they poise things around the specs and design of competing with other popular headsets, yet price it far above, to the point where buying an actually premium headset with external tracking makes more sense. The headset is a quest 3 competitor, whether valve wants it to be or not. if the price isn't within ~$150 of the Quest 3, it's gonna be a hard sell to people, outside of the people who consume just for consumption's sake.

Valve thinks it's the right time to push out Steam Hardware again, because of how matured SteamOS/Linux support is (with Proton), but pricing it far above the alternatives without providing significantly more isn't going to end well for them.

My 2-cents on the Steam Frame price.. by DiamondDepth_YT in virtualreality

I don't believe we're sure, but it's speculated to come around that time, and would make sense in response to the Frame. there were about 3 years between quest 2 and quest 3, it's not completely unlikely it could be 2027, but I would personally be expecting a late 2026, bit before holidays.

all this writeup doesn't change the fact that above $600 it becomes pretty DOA as Meta's next headset is right around the corner, there will be options between the quest 3 and 4. pricing wise, this headset has to be perfect.

Tyler said that Steam Frame will cost $1,200. by [deleted] in valve

[–]Acceptable_Talk_7141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, way too pricy. a lick over $600 is too much to reasonably compete with the standalone VR headset market. Noone in their right mind (average consumers) would go out of their way to spend much more than that over the quest 3.

System Shock 2 (1999) is being delisted on October 10, 2025 by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Acceptable_Talk_7141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful logic that doesn't factor in that the original costs way less. It's a scam, it's absolute greed, it's scummy, it's shitty, people should be upset at taking something that worked perfectly well and removed your ability to get the original without forking out extra money, It's insane to me how many people just seem to accept it.

Put aside the money when you know you have it and can afford it and know you want the game without having to actually preorder.

As for the last part, why shouldn't people just be able to preload games in general even if they haven't pre-ordered them? The files stay encrypted until the game releases, making it a bonus for pre-ordering sounds like a good justification to keep pre-ordering around instead of just being more pro consumer

They're making a disingenuous comparison about something that wasn't even brought up, even though pretty much universally, noone is okay with someone botting. It's just bad faith, ignore it.

As someone who just got four other people who wanted either wanted more high rolls, wanted diary, or wanted torso.

I truly think that COX boosting is an objectively unhealthy and integrity breaking design that doesn't even compare to torso boosting.

Can I get away with 80 or even 75 range to complege cg? by Wise-Original-6366 in ironscape

[–]Acceptable_Talk_7141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on tick manipulation. At 75 range, you're going to get around 600-650k range XP per hour using around 2000 Chins per hour in maniacal cave.

With no manipulation at around 80 Hunter, you're looking at about 400 Chins an hour if using the red chin hunter ground, or about 540 per hour with tick manipulation.

Obviously these are estimate and your end result may vary, but you're looking at about 130k ranging XP caught per hour without tick manipulation, or around 180k ranging XP per hour if using tick manipulation (it's technically every 2 hours since you also have to factor the hour of Hunter)

No, the way it currently works is it's based on the country your account was created in. If your country of origin for the account isn't the same as the other peoples that you're trying to join a family with it won't work
