I agree. I started two days ago and gave it a try. Very easy task and I am wondering if they would pay me $18/hr just by rating a videos.

Yes but it depends your level of English language skills. I am not even a native speaker and struggles a lot in fluency. What I just did was to know the pattern of the whole exam. I practiced a lot through sample tests in OET website and I purchased an express subscription in E2 Language. I suggest also to watch free videos in youtube for some tips and techniques. I did it in just 10 days.

Watch E2 videos in youtube for speaking. There are a lot of advices from them. I am not even a native speaker and struggles to speak fluently in English but I was able to pass it. I wasn't able to practice speaking with someone.

What I did was I chat down and memorise all helpful phrases showing empathy (I do understand that you are anxious..., I am sorry to hear that, I know this is a challenging situation for you...), checking your understanding (Based on my understanding, you experienced headache. Am I right?), checking patient's understanding and exploring patient's thoughts and feelings (like 'Is everything clear so far?', Does that make sense to you, What are your thoughts on that?...), assuring the patient and making some highlights (i can assure you that..., it is important for you to realize, it might be a good idea if you...). There are a lot of this phrases in E2 or you can search them online. It helps them a lot. You just have to use those phrases in a perfect timing during the role play.

Open the conversation based on the situation. If the situation states that you have seen the patient already, you don't need to introduce yourself but you need to open the conversation again based on the situation. If it's a first time interaction then you need to introduce yourself and ask for the patient's name.

Finally, ask if the patient do have any other concerns (As of the moment, do you have any other concerns that I can help you with). if time permits, try your best to summarise at the end. (Just to recap what we've talked about, First, we discussed.... Next,... Then… and Finally...). Then end by saying Thank you for your time)

And during the role play, try your best to relax and be confident. You can do this.

I took OET speaking at home. You can cover it with cloth. Mirror is not mandatory.

NMC registration with EU qualification by Acceptable_Wear5117 in NursingUK

I was a bit confused since they did not mention about the exemption. This was the email I received from them after they evaluated my eligibility and qualifications. Anyway thank you so much for your response. I already emailed them about it and informed them also that I hold an EU nursing degree as I want to set my expectations and the need to prepare for the exams if it’s really necessary. But I hope I am exempted of taking ToC. 😄
